Family & Consumer Science Teacher
Ephrata Area School District, 803 Oak Boulevard, Ephrata, PA, is seeking a dedicated and passionate Family & Consumer Science (FCS) Teacher starting the 2025-2026 school year.
The FCS Teacher promotes and develops successful learning for students, performs instructional and related duties in accordance with District Policies and terms of the teacher contract. The Teacher also maintains a cooperative attitude with staff, parents, and students.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement effective lesson plans that align with the curriculum and educational standards.
- Deliver engaging and interactive lessons to students of varying abilities and learning styles.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to cater to the diverse needs of students.
- Assess student performance through tests, quizzes, projects, and other assignments.
- Provide timely feedback to students and parents regarding academic progress and areas for improvement.
- Identify individual student needs and provide additional support or interventions, as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other relevant information.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the curriculum.
- Stay updated on current educational practices and instructional technologies.
- Participate in professional development activities and school-wide events.
Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in Education.
- Pennsylvania Teaching certification in Family & Consumer Science.
- Prior experience teaching at the secondary or post-secondary level is desirable.
- Deep knowledge of the subject matter and a passion for the subject matter.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Proficiency in using educational technology tools and software for instruction.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and improvement.

Applicants must possess the following criminal clearances obtained within the last 12 months: Act 34 - PA Criminal Record; Act 114 - FBI Background Check; Act 151 - PA Child Abuse Clearance. The Ephrata Area School District also requires a pre-employment drug test, physical, and TB test upon offer of employment.

Salary Range: Current EAEA Collective Bargaining Agreement
