Assistant Coach
Throughout the school year, the Ephrata Area School District will be recruiting dedicated and experienced Assistant Coaches to assist the Head Coach with leading and developing our sports programs. The ideal candidate should have a passion for the sport, excellent coaching skills, and the ability to foster a positive and supportive team environment. As an Assistant Coach, you will play a vital role in shaping the athletes both on and off the field.

Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Coach in any way determined by the Head Coach
- Assist in developing and implementing effective training programs and practice sessions to enhance players' skills, fitness, and overall performance.
- Assist in creating game strategies and lead the team during matches, making real-time decisions to optimize team performance.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to assistant coaches, players, and team support staff.
- Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect among players and ensure a positive team culture.
- Monitor player progress, assess strengths and areas for improvement, and provide constructive feedback.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of players during practices, games, and travel.
Qualifications:
- Previous coaching experience at the high school, college, or club level preferred
- Strong understanding of the rules, strategies, and techniques.
- Effective communication skills to convey instructions, feedback, and motivate players.
- Leadership qualities that inspire players to excel both on and off the field.
- Ability to work collaboratively with head coach, staff, parents, and school administration.
- Certification in coaching or relevant lacrosse training is a plus.

Applicants must possess the following clearances with results that have been obtained within the last 12 months: Act 34 PA Criminal Background Clearance, Act 114 - FBI Background Check; Act 252 - PA Child Abuse Certificate. The Ephrata Area School District also requires a pre-employment drug test, physical and TB test upon offer of employment as specified in district policies.
