TITLE:                                  TECHNOLOGY TRAINER

DEPARTMENT:                    DUBLIN CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT
           
POSITION SUMMARY: 
 
The Technology Trainer will play a crucial role in empowering staff within Dublin City School District to effectively utilize new software and hardware. This position requires a highly motivated and self-directed individual with a passion for training and a knack for creating clear, concise, and engaging how-to guides. The successful candidate will work closely with various staff members across the district, adapting their training and materials to meet a wide range of technical skill levels, from novice to advanced. This role involves assessing training needs, developing and delivering training sessions (both in-person and potentially virtual), and creating comprehensive documentation, including step-by-step guides, video tutorials, and FAQs. The Technology Trainer will be instrumental in ensuring smooth technology adoption and maximizing the district's investment in new systems.
 
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
• A bachelor's degree in education, instructional design, information technology, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Proven experience training and developing training materials, preferably in a K-12 educational setting.
• Experience with Google Workspace, student information systems, educational software, interactive whiteboards, smart TVs, shared platforms, and emerging AI technology is a necessity.
• Proven success as a technical trainer.
• Knowledge of modern training techniques and tools in technical subjects.
• Experience in designing technical course content.
• Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner, both verbally and in writing.
• Proficiency in using various software applications (e.g., word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, video editing, screen recording tools).
• Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and online training platforms is a plus.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to adapt communication style to diverse audiences and comfortable speaking to crowds.
• Patience and empathy when working with individuals with varying levels of technical expertise.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A passion for technology and a desire to help others learn and use it effectively. 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Collaborates with district technology staff to identify upcoming software and hardware deployments and anticipate training needs.
• Conducts needs assessments to understand the specific training requirements of different staff groups.
• Creates comprehensive and user-friendly how-to guides, manuals, video tutorials, and other documentation for new software and hardware.
• Maintains and updates existing training materials to reflect software updates and hardware changes.
• Executes training sessions, webinars, workshops etc. in groups or individually.
• Gathers feedback on training effectiveness and makes necessary adjustments to improve content and delivery.
• Demonstrates sustained effort and enthusiasm in the quality and quantity of work.
• Demonstrates enthusiasm for the use of technology.
• Develops and delivers engaging and effective training sessions tailored to various learning styles and technical abilities. This may include in-person workshops, online webinars, and small group or one-on-one instruction.
• Provides ongoing support and troubleshooting assistance to staff members regarding technology use.
• Stays up-to-date on the latest technology trends and best practices in training and documentation.
• Manages training logistics, including scheduling, room booking, and material preparation.
• Proactively identifies opportunities to improve technology adoption and usage within the district.
• Ability to travel between school sites within the district.
• Ensures the safety of students.
• Establishes and maintains cooperative professional relationships.
• Remains free of any alcohol or nonprescription controlled substance and abuse of any prescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout employment in the district.
• Exhibits professional behavior, emotional stability, and sound judgment.
• Serves as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as citizens and as responsible, and intelligent human beings.
• Understands the legal responsibility to help instill in students the belief in, and practice of, ethical principles and democratic values.
• Maintains confidentiality and respect for confidential information at all times.
• Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or his/her designee.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:   
Days and Salary as per the Negotiated Agreement.
