JOB SUMMARY:
The Assistant Principal plays a vital role in supporting the school's mission to provide a safe, nurturing, and academically rigorous environment for all students. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

4. Keeps the principal apprised of activities, situations, and developments that affect the school operation;
5. Assists in building a talented instructional team; 
6. Assists in the supervision, observation and evaluation of staff; 
7. Assists with the organization and implementation of staff development;
8. Assists with directing and improving curriculum and instruction;
9. Conducts faculty meetings when requested by the Principal; 
10. Supervises student activities, assemblies and other activities; 
11. Assists in organizing student activities; 
12. Assists with the supervision of student orientation, registration, and scheduling;
13. Supervises textbook and equipment inventory as assigned by the Principal;
14. Assists with the administration and supervision of the total school program in accordance with applicable regulations;

POSITION:   Paraprofessional        
 
LOCATION:  Various Locations
 
JOB SUMMARY:
 
The paraprofessional will provide support to teachers and students in educational settings. The ideal candidate will assist with instruction, provide individualized support, and help maintain a positive and effective learning environment.
 
QUALIFICATIONS: 
1. Sixty (60) college credit hours, Associates degree preferred;
2. Experience working with sensitive information regarding students;
3. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Ability to relate and motivate all students with respect to learning styles and involving positive interactions for the ongoing intellectual development of young minds;
2. Ability to successfully integrate technology into the classroom while engaging students;
3. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school system staff, students, parents and the community.
 
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 
1. Supports classroom teachers in delivering lessons by providing one-on-one or small group instruction to students;
2. Reinforces learning concepts by working with students on assignments, projects or activities;
3. Assists with the implementation of lesson plans and educational activities under the direction of the teacher;
4. Provides support to students with special needs, including those with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) or 504 plans;
5. Assists in maintaining a positive and productive classroom environment by enforcing rules and expectations;
6. Monitors student behavior and intervenes as necessary to address disruptions;
7. Participates in training sessions, workshops, or professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Ability to lift and carry teaching materials, books, or small classroom equipment (typically up to 25 lbs);
2. Ability to prepare and manipulate learning materials;
3. Ability to stand and actively move around the classroom for extended periods;
4. Ability to move between classrooms, hallways, and other school areas as needed;
5. Ability to respond quickly in case of emergencies, such as evacuating students or assisting during drills;
6. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

SALARY RANGE:   Competitive salary and excellent benefits package in accordance with the DCSS Compensation Guide.
