    JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Finance Manager, the Accountant is responsible for supporting accounting systems and controls to assure the integrity of the financial practices and reporting in accordance with state, federal and local policies, laws, rules and guidelines while working in partnership with District schools and departments.
     
    DUTIES:
    • Maintains the district's general ledger.
    • Accounts for all revenue and allocates revenue to appropriate accounts.
    • Reviews budgets and works with budget managers to assesses the need for adjustments.
    • Assists in preparing special education reporting forms and reports (EDRS) in accordance with UFARS.
    • Prepares the district's monthly financial reports, including those to be presented to the School Board.
    • Prepares student tuition statements.
    • Perform monthly reconciliation of medical and dental liability accounts.
    • Participates in the District's annual audit process.
    • Maintain the accounting for Fixed Assets
    • Perform other duties as assigned
     
    Essential knowledge and specialized subject knowledge required to perform the essential functions of the job:
    • Knowledge of the principles of accounting and auditing.
    • Knowledge of business and financial management.
    • Knowledge of appropriate computer software, such as spreadsheets, databases and word processing and specialized programs used by District 
    • Knowledge of district administrative guidelines, policies and procedures.

    REQUIREMENTS: Associate’s or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or directly related area.
    One to three years of accounting experience, required.  Experience with financial management, preferably in school districts.

    SALARY:  
    Group: Unaffiliated 2
    Position: Accountant
    Rate of Pay: $65,000-$85,000/annually depending on experience, education and qualifications.

    Other: Salary pro-rated based on start date.
