    POSITION TITLE:     Network and Systems Infrastructure Engineer

    PRIMARY FUNCTION:  The Network Infrastructure Engineer will plan the future growth and expansion of the network and server infrastructure.  The Network Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and updating as needed the Wired and Wireless networks, LAN access and security, Internet access and security, IP Voice communications, and other IP endpoints.  The Network Infrastructure Engineer will also be responsible for maintaining and updating our current server and client systems, user account management, data storage and security, data backups and recovery, and new endpoint deployment. 

     
    QUALIFICATIONS: 
    1. License: 
     
    1. Required – CompTIA A+ Certification, however, if does not have the certification, will have six months from start of employment to receive the certification.
    2. Preferred – Preferred – CompTIA A+ Certification and Cisco CCNA, CCNP, or other related certifications, and/or CompTIA Network+/Security+, ISC2, GIAC, Microsoft MSCA, MSCE or other related certifications (i.e., VMWARE VCA, VCP, VCAP) or other approved vendor certifications.
     
    1. Education:
     
    1. Required – Associate's Degree in related technical field
    2. Preferred – Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science.  
     
    1. Experience:
     
    1. Required – Five (5) to ten (10) years’ hands on experience in a related position supporting networking, routing, switching, wireless, network/security appliances, and related technologies. Microsoft SCCM, Active Directory, LDAP, RADIUS, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, AD Federation, and related Microsoft server technologies, Microsoft Exchange, Outlook, OWA, VM Ware virtualization including: host and guest configuration and management, ESXi, vSphere, vMotion, and related technologies.  Proven network engineering, network operations, and network performance analysis skills.
    2. Preferred – Five (5) to ten (10) years’ experience with Chromebooks/ChromeOS, G-Suite, and Google Admin Console/Device Manager, Cyber/NET/Tech, streaming media, live and recorded video and video editing, webcasting/broadcasting, and related audio-visual technologies, Singlewire Informacast and/or Advanced Network Devices endpoints.  Cisco Systems experience at the enterprise networking level.  Familiarity/experience with DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, LDAP, RADIUS, Group Policy and similar Microsoft server technologies. 

    ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:    
    1. Installs, configures and maintains network and server hardware.
    2. Determines network and server capacity and performance requirements.
    3. Maintains integrity of the network, server deployment and security.
    4. Analyzes and isolates issues.
    5. Integrates and supports third party internal and cloud applications.
    6. Resolves problems reported by end users.
    7. Determines network and server requirements and design solutions.
    8. Recommends upgrades, patches, and new applications and equipment.
    9. Maintains network connectivity of all endpoint devices.
    10. Provides network support to users.
    11. Develops and monitors policies for the use of network resources.
    12. Implements and manages network device configuration backups.
    13. Prepares and maintains documentation of network configurations and cabling layouts.
    14. Assists with designing, deploying, and administering wired and wireless infrastructure and supporting systems.
    15. Assists in network design and implementation.
    16. Identifies user needs.
    17. Monitors and manages day-to-day IT network and server infrastructure.
    18. Provides helpdesk support for network and server issues and respond to requests for IT support.
    19. Delegates support team resources.
    20. Oversees troubleshooting for system errors.
    21. Works with outside vendors and consultants as required.
    22. Evaluates connectivity issues, equipment, and software.
    23. Documents internal procedures.
    24. Installs, tests, and monitors switches, firewalls, access points and other network and server hardware.
    25. Keeps an inventory of equipment and licenses.
       
    OTHER PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
    1. Assist in other areas as needed.
    2. Complete other duties as needed.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
    Technical:        General knowledge of computer equipment & peripherals required.  Xerox printer support necessary.  Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.  Must be able to use the district email system, Google platforms, Microsoft Office, and the district’s attendance system.
     
    Interpersonal: Must have excellent interpersonal skills, be confident and reliable. Excellent technical competencies in a variety of area including writing and editing, organization, problem-solving, multi-tasking, statistical record keeping, prioritizing and the like.  Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with staff, parents, students, businesses and community.  Must have strong organization, communication, and customer service skills; and a strong sense of teamwork.  Must be able to cope with deadline pressures; make difficult decisions that impact the organization in a positive sense; work harmoniously with the community, students, parents, staff, and administration, etc.; communicate effectively with students, parents and staff; exhibit sound judgment in dealing with people; and follow directives given by Administration. Must also be a creative problem solver; and empathetic, humanistic and open-minded.  Must exhibit patience and professionalism.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
    Manual Dexterity:        Work requires definite skilled and accurate physical operations requiring some closely coordination performance.
    Physical Effort:            Work requires handling average weight materials or equipment, but not for sustained periods.
    Working Conditions:   Some exposure to definitely disagreeable elements may exist, i.e., temperature changes, use of steps/stairs, walking long distances throughout the building, etc.

     
    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Full Time Position.  May be required to work evenings and on weekends as needed.  May be required to flex hours as needed.

    SALARY RANGE:  $100,000 - $112,000.  Salary and benefits established by the Board of Education
