DENISON INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT JOB TITLE: General Maintenance/Kitchen Technician DEPARTMENT: Facilities REPORTS TO: Director of Facilities Maintenance - 260 Days
PRIMARY PURPOSE: Perform overall maintenance & repairs associated in the following areas:
- General maintenance at all district facilities inside and outside.
Preventative maintenance on various equipment around the district.
- Kitchen equipment maintenance including but not limited to preventative filter changes, cleaning vent-a-hoods, exhaust fans, etc.
- Assist with maintenance of grounds when needed.

UALIFICATIONS: Minimum Education/Certification: High School diploma or GED
Valid Texas driver’s license – Class C or higher
“Preferred”, but not required – Lo-temp refrigeration or technicians certification
Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to operate hand and power tools
Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair problems
Ability to read schematics and perform electrical connections to equipment
Knowledge of basic construction and routine maintenance and repair
Demonstrate ability to work and get along with people and exhibit professionalism in all work related matters.
Experience: Three years maintenance experience related to repairs and assessments of commercial equipment and/or related experiences in an education environment
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: - Provide immediate response to all trouble calls for any and all work order related request
- Repair, replace and perform work as needed on kitchen equipment and lo-temp equipment needs
- Assist other technicians as needed to complete work requiring multiple tradesmen.
- Ensure high quality workmanship and support to campus’s and staff
- Conduct professionalism with campus staff and within all areas of workmanship.
- Perform high quality preventative maintenance work on designated frequencies.
EQUIPMENT USED: Hand tools and electric tools, meters, gauges, ladders, specialty tools, aerial equipment,
WORKING CONDITIONS: Continuous walking and standing; bending and stooping, reaching above shoulder level, lifting and carrying, operating electrical hand tools and other motorized equipment including aerial equipment and on occasion pulling trailers.
