                 Vacancy Notice – Director of Student Services
 
The Delran Township School District, a K-12 district committed to excellence and innovation, is accepting applications for a Director of  Student Services. The district seeks to appoint an exemplary administrator who will lead the development, implementation and evaluation of services for students with disabilities and oversee the fiscal and programmatic needs of the student services department. This central office administrator will supervise, plan, organize and implement all phases of the district’s student services (special education, guidance, mental health, and school nursing) while also contributing to the overall culture of the district as an agent of positivity.
 
The ideal candidate will work with the district administration, faculty and staff to develop and oversee sound educational programs for classified students, to serve as an advocate for students with disabilities and ensure students with disabilities are provided with free and appropriate public education through the provision of high-quality instructional programs and supplemental services. The district is seeking a leader committed to maintaining a positive and cooperative environment and who has the following qualifications:
 
• Master’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university with a concentration in special education preferred.
• NJ School Principal Certification and/or NJ School Administrator Certification.
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a school or district leadership position, preferably in special education.
• Extensive knowledge of guidance counseling services, child study team services, 504 plan coordination and school nursing services for students in pre-school to age 21.
• Experience in implementing and developing effective school mental health programs.
• Extensive knowledge of Federal and State special education code, compliance, and applicable case law.
• Experience with the development of budgets, entitlement grants and government reporting.
• Excellent organizational skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• The ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, parents and community.
