Information Technology Instructor
 
General Description:  The Information Technology Instructor at Miamisburg City Schools will provide instructional activities consistent with the objectives of the information technology support services curriculum and the MVCTC in general.  The instructor will direct the learning experiences of the students, including skill development, human relations, and the leadership qualities that are necessary to obtain gainful employment and/or continued education in the computer science/information technology industry.  Youth activities (BPA) are an important integral part of the curriculum and the instructor will be expected to guide the BPA program. The Information Technology Instructor will report to the Satellite Supervisor.
 
Qualifications:
1. Must hold or qualify for an alternative resident educator or five-year professional license eligible to teach the courses in the computer repair and technical support program.
2. Prior experience in computer programming, computer repair, and website development and the ability to troubleshoot computer hardware and software problems is preferred.
3. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to obtain and maintain information technology credentials is preferred.
4. Ability to plan and implement lessons based on program and school objectives and the needs and abilities of students to whom assigned.
5. Ability to move about the classroom/lab to check student work and monitor behavior.
6. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, and parents.
7. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
8. Possess excellent human relations skills and serve as a role model for students.
9. Ability to make home and work site visits to monitor the student or confer with the employer as required.
10. The ability to work closely with team members possessing a variety of backgrounds.
