The individual considered for this position will collaboratively work with school personnel to design and implement a comprehensive literacy support program with the intention of increasing and strengthening literacy learning for all students. The reading specialist will have strong skill sets in assessment literacy, literacy best practice methodologies and materials as well as have the ability to work with students and staff in pull out and push in models of differentiated literacy instruction. The overarching goal is for this qualified professional to support the development of a literacy program that is effective for all students.

Following qualifications are preferred for the ideal candidate:
• Valid Professional Educator License from Illinois State Board of Education
• Must hold a reading specialist endorsement (K-12 with a master's degree, completed the reading specialist preparation program, and passed all required tests)
• ESL endorsement required or willingness to obtain the endorsement before the start of their second year of employment

Salary/Benefits:
• Work Year: 182 Days
• Leave: 12 Sick Days / 2 Personal Days 
• FLSA Status: Non-exempt 
• Retirement: TRS 
• Benefits: Yes 
• Salary: Commensurate with experience ($53,989 - $65,209)
