• Consults with administrators and faculty on the matters of student development.
• Cooperates with the Principal and the Assistant Principal in establishing and maintaining an effective learning climate in the school.
• Administers disciplinary measures to students in cooperation with the Principal.
• Works with students on an individual basis and in groups in the solution of personal problems dealing with home and family relations, health, and emotional adjustment.
• Supervises scheduled extracurricular activities/events, as coordinated by the principal.
• Assists the principal with the supervision and evaluation of certified and educational support personnel.
• Contacts teachers, administrators, and elementary school personnel when appropriate.
• Maintains contacts with social service agencies outside the district as required by the needs of the students and/or teachers.
• Communicates with parents regarding all disciplinary issues.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Duties assigned by the Principal and/or Certified School Nurse, including:
• Displays professionalism, including integrity and confidentiality.

• Assists Principal and Certified School Nurse in maintenance and confidentiality of all student health records.
• Assists Principal in maintenance and confidentiality of all student health records.
• Assumes responsibility for obtaining and maintaining student health forms including health records, immunization records, dental forms, physicals, completing accident reports, etc.
• Administers first aid and care to sick or injured students.
• Under the direction of the District Nurse, voluntarily dispenses medications to students according to instructions provided by the student’s parents, physician, and the District’s policies and procedures.
• Maintains first aid supplies.
• Communicates with parents regarding health policies, illnesses, injuries, etc.
• Assists with vision and hearing screening, as directed.
• Consults with school or district nurses, as needed.
• Answers office telephones and respond appropriately to request for information or direct the caller to the person(s) with proper information.
• Greets all visitors courteously, determine their needs, check appointments, maintain visitor logs, and direct or escort them to proper person.
• Processes visitors through Raptor system, as needed.
• Attends and participate in assigned meetings and trainings, as directed.
• Attends team meetings and parent-teacher conferences, if requested or as appropriate.
• Performs other similar duties as directed by the teacher or the principal.
 
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  
• All student attendance days, Institute Days, and Workdays, with an additional five days as determined by the Principal.

Purpose: The Data Systems Specialist manages the district student information systems and assures that state reporting functions are implemented consistently. Maintains student data with integrity and accuracy in the following areas: attendance, grading, test scores, EL data, student fees, bus transportation, scheduling, ISBE data submissions, state & federal reporting, online registration, and importing and exporting of student data. Maintains the functionality and interoperability between various district database resources and works collaboratively with the District technology department.

Performance Responsibilities:
• Maintain student database system (Skyward) calendar and terms; setup new school year and annual rollover
• Deep understanding of student attendance, registration, course scheduling, and other core campus processes in regards to Skyward functionality
• Manage security and access rights for Skyward and related software
• Provides guidance and technical support for Skyward system end users
• Oversees and manages the ISBE SIS (Student Information System), and other comprehensive data management systems within the learning organization including all required reports and uploads
• Provides assistance to district and school personnel in navigation of SIS system for reporting purposes
• Maintains and updates the state information file for testing and reporting for district schools
• Attends necessary ISBE SIS and ISBE Assessment workshops and/or webinars to ensure accurate maintenance of district and school databases
• Coordinates with building administration to ensure accuracy of student records for state mandated testing
• Coordinates with Technology Department and assists building administration in the delivery of all state assessments
• Provide regular data analysis to administration, department heads, counselors, and staff.
• Facilitate district information exports to other databases used in the district
• Coordinates the data operability between student and staff records for all applications, programs, and software including learning management, data warehousing, library management, and assessment software, etc.
• Manages and oversees all website filtering, and responds to requests from staff
• Works collaboratively, as needed, with the District Technology Department in terms of management of work orders, organization, etc.
• Develops expert competencies on district data systems
• Provides timely recommendations on system upgrades, as well as technical support for the functionality of data systems
• Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and administrators
• Provides training and on-going support for consistent application of student information and record management systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Terms of Employment:
• Twelve-month year salary to be established by the Board of Education. (Salary range is $48,000-$58,000)

Evaluation:
The Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning and/or Assistant Superintendent of Innovation and Information will serve as the supervisor and will provide feedback regarding performance.
