TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 
 
The Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, shall employ the Food Service Worker. The annual period of service is 185 days. This is a non-contract, at-will position. The Fair Dismissal Act does not apply to this position. 
 
PRIMARY FUNCTION:  To prepare and serve nutritionally adequate meals to students, staff and visitors in an efficient and courteous manner. 
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned. 
 
• Communicates, collaborates, and cooperates with colleagues, supervisors, and students.

• Assist in the preparation of various foods for cooking and serving.

• Use portion control to equally portion all foods.

• Implement state/local health codes as they relate to food service.

• Sets up food on serving lines and/or steam tables and serves meals or meal components according to approved standards. 

• Stores or disposes of excess food properly. 

• Handles money for meals, supplemental foods, and beverages served during the day according to the approved cask collection procedure.

• Washes, sanitizes, and stores dishes, tableware, and kitchen utensils; cleans and sanitizes counters, tables, ad chairs; scrubs and mops floors; disposes of wastes properly.

• Operates and cleans all kitchen equipment such as ranges, ovens, mixers. Steamers, tilting skillets, choppers, and dishwashing machines.

• Stores foods and supplies in accordance with instructions and assists in taking inventories.

• Assists in keeping food and supplies in an organized manner in storerooms, freezers, and coolers. 

• Assists as needed in receiving goods ordered.

• Reports to the manager daily in an approved format for production record purposes, all food (USDA and purchased) pulled from stockrooms/ freezers and refrigerators. 

• Demonstrates appropriate interpersonal skills ( treats students, parents, employees, and others with dignity by refraining from derogatory , abusive, angry, or offensive remarks; maintains composure in stressful situations)

• Attends scheduled meetings. 

• Follow appropriate dress code to represent school food service in a professional manner.

• Participates in training programs to increase skills and p[proficiency to the assignment.

• Ensures adherence to good safety procedures.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Maintains an up-to-date, in-field certificate with  required ESOL certification and/or endorsement issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission; salary and length of contract to be  established by the Board of Education. 
 
PRIMARY FUNCTION: To plan for and to provide appropriate learning  experiences and educational opportunities for identified ESOL students assigned  to caseload using the WIDA Framework guidelines, appropriate Georgia  Standards, the principles of language acquisition, and through the use of state approved delivery models. A primary focus of this work is aimed at implementing  culturally responsive pedagogy, anti-racism, cultural humility, equity, and the elimination of disproportionality in areas such as student achievement, discipline,  and participation. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned. • Teaching and Classroom Duties and Responsibilities 
• Demonstrates proficient knowledge of the WIDA Framework and GA Standards of Excellence for appropriate content strands. 
• Identifies pupil needs and develops strategies for small groups and/or  individual education plans.  
• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides whole  group, small group, and individualized instruction to adapt the curriculum to  the needs of each pupil. 
• Plans and implements developmentally appropriate interactive learning  experiences. 
• Communicates regularly with parents outside normal classroom day by  means of class newsletters, notes, telephone calls, conferences, emails,  websites, etc. 
• Utilizes technology effectively to plan, teach, and assess. 
• Evaluates, selects, and modifies resources and activities to match learners’  needs and meet the curriculum standards. 
• Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior to achieve an  effective learning atmosphere. 
• Monitors students’ progress in learning through a variety of techniques. o Participates in the MTSS process, including all MTSS meetings for all identified ESOL students. 
• Prepares adequately for responsibilities to be assumed when absent.

• Parent Engagement Duties and Responsibilities 
• Plans for and delivers parent and family engagement workshops specifically  targeted and designed for ESOL and Title III parents. 
• Is available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside  the instructional day including PTA events and family engagement events. 
• Provides support to parents and the local school for fostering school –  home communication regarding ESOL program and other school and  district communications provided in a language that parents can understand 
• Professional Learning and Development Responsibilities 
• Maintains annual WIDA Screener and ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 certifications  each year. 
• Participates in professional learning to increase skills and proficiency  related to job responsibilities and serves on committee’s when needed.
• Remains up to date on current trends and research in the field as it relates  to EL achievement and local, state, and federal guidance on ESOL and  immigrant students. 
• Assists in providing training at local school for the support in ESOL  strategies and models of instruction and assessment for English Learner  achievement. 
• Attend district ESOL department meetings and participate in all required  ESOL related professional learning. 
• ESOL Programmatic Responsibilities, Monitoring, and Compliance 
• Prepare and submit ESOL service schedule for assigned schools for  approval by ESOL Coordinator/Director. 
• Maintain accurate student records concerning ESOL eligibility, parent  notifications, and testing accommodations using the district student  information system and other require documentation protocols. 
• Provide teaching strategies and recommendations for accommodations in  both instruction and assessment to differentiate for all levels of language  proficiency.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 
The Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, shall appoint the Bus Driver. The annual period of service for the Bus Driver shall be 185 days.
 

PRIMARY FUNCTION: 
Operates school buses safely under all types of weather conditions; Transports students and other authorized persons to and from the assigned education center, event facilities, activity locations, and field trip destinations; controls passenger behavior and maintains safe operations of the assigned bus.
 
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned. 
 
 
• Drives designated route according to stop times, stop location, and safely transports students to and from school, field trips and other designated activities
• Conducts thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, verifies that the bus has sufficient fuel, and ensures that special equipment and communications devices are in working order (two-way radio, stop arms, on board cameras, external cameras, etc.)
• Routinely conducts an inventory of bus emergency and first aid supplies in accordance to established policies and procedures; Immediately reports if devices, supplies, or emergency equipment is inoperable or missing
• In the event of an accident, assures that all medical procedures are followed, completes timely accident report(s) in accordance to policy and procedures
• Maintains student discipline on the bus and refers serious infractions to appropriate administrator using student discipline form.
• Operates school bus in accordance with laws of Georgia and in accordance with the policies prescribed by City Schools of Decatur school system in a safe and proficient manner under all weather conditions
• Follows procedures to guarantee that no student is left alone on a bus without adult supervision at any time; Ensures that all children that all students/riders have departed the bus at the end of all bus routes (morning, evening and during field trips an other special trips)
• Provides maximum safety for passengers while on the bus and during loading and unloading
• Delivers bus to Fleet maintenance facility as directed by a pre-arranged monthly schedule for bus service
• Conducts emergency evacuation drills as required by local school system
• May be called upon to assist with transportation training for bus aides, bus monitors, teachers, students and volunteers
• Communicates effectively and professionally with school staff and the public; maintains a professional appearance in accordance to department dress codes or policies
• Demonstrates punctuality and regular attendance; work hours may vary during the school year
• Maintains external and internal cleanliness of bus as required for safe comfortable operation
• Submit legible accurate reports and time sheets in a timely manner as required by the Transportation Department
• Maintains an active Commercial Driver’s License; attends required training meetings, orientations, state safety meetings, and all in-service training as requested

PREFFERED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
 
• 4 years operating commercial vehicles either over-the-road or passenger
• 2 years prior experience operating a school bus
