Position:                     Food Service Worker - 4 hours per day

Description:                Assists in the preparation of food for school lunch program as directed by the Cafeteria Cook/Manager; does related work as required and must be willing to fill in as needed in all areas, possibly in another school.  Assists between lunches in a variety of duties.  Ability to work with others for clean up at the end of the day as directed by the Cook/Manager.
 
Compensation:          $17.91 per hour per MEUI contract; sick time and personal time as per the MEIU contract.  M-F, 4 hours per day (Hours to be determined).  Health insurance is not provided.
 
Requirements:           Works under the direction of the Cafeteria Cook/Manager.  Assists in the preparation of different types of food; assumes care of equipment used in the performance of work; assists in apportioning foods and performs any other related duties that the Cook/Manager may direct, such as food inventory each month and occasional baking.  Lifting is required.
 
Background:               Knowledge of safety and sanitary conditions which are necessary in the cafeteria; must be willing to participate in State sanitation course and become certified.  Knowledge of cash register or willingness to learn.  Ability to use a calculator and process daily paperwork including daily production records.   Ability to work well with others and work with and understand student of all ages.
