    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Hold a bachelor's degree in elementary education, preferred but not required.
    • Hold a master's degree in education (elementary preferred, but not required) and completion of advanced work in curriculum and/or administration.
    • Hold valid Kentucky certification for Instructional Leadership, Principal, all grades.
    • Have at least three years teaching experience.
    • Have experience in elementary school administration (preferred but not required).
    • Have proven ability as an instructional leader.
    • Have proven ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, parents, and the community.
    • Have proven ability in the area of school discipline.
     
    RESPONSIBLE TO:                             Building Principal

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Assist with the instructional leadership for the school, in cooperation with the School-based Decision Making Council.
    • Assist with the planning, implementation and evaluation of the Comprehensive School Improvement Plan, in cooperation with the School-based Decision Making Council.
    • Assist with the planning, implementation and evaluation of the total instructional program, in cooperation with School-based Decision Making Council.
    • Assist with the school effectiveness program including lesson plan monitoring, classroom observations of the teaching process, and engaged time analysis.
    • Assist with the planning, implementation and evaluation of the School-based Professional Development Program in coordination with the school’s Improvement Plan.
    • Assist with and support the school's Gifted and Talented Program in cooperation with the program leader.
    • Assist with and support the school's Special Education Programs in cooperation with the General Director of Special Programs.
    • Assist with the evaluation of all certified and classified staff in accordance with the district's policies and procedures.
    • Assist with the development and administration of the annual school-based budget in accordance with the School-based Decision Making Council.
    • Assist with scheduling the school's lunch program.
    • Assist with the school's extra-curricular program.
    • Assist with a strong parent program and be a liaison between school and community.
    • Assist with the preparation and submission the school's budgetary requests, and monitor expenditures of funds.
    • Assist with the maintaining of high standards of student conduct and enforce discipline as necessary, according to due process to the rights of students as stipulated by the Student Code of Conduct.
    • Assist with maintaining professional awareness of current literature related to assignment, including working knowledge of state and federal law, Board policy and administrative regulations.
    • Assist with the activities and philosophy of the Primary School Program.
    • Assist with the family resource center’s activities and personnel.             
    • Perform other duties consistent with the position assigned as may be requested by immediate supervisor and/or Superintendent of Schools.
     
    JOB GOAL:
    • To use leadership, supervisory and administrative skills to promote the educational development of each student, and to assist the principal in all aspects of the school administration.
     
    SALARY:   Rank and Experience       CONTRACT: 205 Days
