DEAN OF STUDENTS
COPLEY-FAIRLAWN MIDDLE SCHOOL
COPLEY-FAIRLAWN CITY SCHOOLS Copley-Fairlawn Middle School (CFMS) is seeking a dynamic and student-centered Dean of Students to play a vital role in fostering a positive, safe, and supportive learning environment. The Dean of Students will work collaboratively with the administrative team, counselors, teachers, students, parents, and community stakeholders to promote student success, well-being, and responsible citizenship. This position requires a strong understanding of middle school development, effective communication and interpersonal skills, expertise in student behavior management, and a commitment to creating an equitable and inclusive school culture. The Dean of Students will be instrumental in supporting the social, emotional, and behavioral growth of all CFMS students.
Qualifications:
- Valid Ohio teaching or administrative license/certification
- Master's degree in Educational Leadership, or a related field preferred.
- Successful experience working with middle school students in a support role (e.g., counselor, behavior specialist, administrator).
- Demonstrated knowledge of middle school development, social-emotional learning, and positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS).
- Strong understanding of restorative practices and conflict resolution strategies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and families.
- Commitment to creating an equitable and inclusive school environment.
- Proficiency in using technology for communication, data management, and record keeping.
