Mentor/Cooperating Teacher (Math and/or Science)
INTERNAL POSTING - THIS POSITION IS ONLY AVAILABLE TO CURRENT FULL TIME CLINT ISD JR HIGH / MIDDLE SCHOOL MATH / SCIENCE TEACHERS
Any teacher interested in applying as a mentor teacher for this program cannot be serving in any other mentor/internship capacity.
Salary Range: Stipend payable ($2,500 per Spring Semester ) through the Texas Teacher Quality Partnership (TXTQP) Grant Program will run for two (2) semesters
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be an active Clint ISD JR High / Middle School Teacher (Certified in Math and/or Science)
- Must have 3 or more years of teaching experience
- Dual credit certification in Math and/or Science, preferred
ResponsibilitiesandDuties:
Serve as a mentor to student intern and provide the content-based support in the knowledge and delivery of effective instruction and pedagogy.
Mentor the student intern in the implementation of student learning objectives and instruction.
Mentor the student intern in classroom organization and management, instructional planning, the delivery instruction and data assessment best practices.
Communicate and collaborate with the student intern on the classroom schedules, as needed.
Monitor and approve the student interns work schedule on a weekly basis or as needed.
Build and foster a professional relationship with the student intern, employees, students and administration.
Maintains a positive and safe learning environment for teachers and students.
Performs other program related duties as assigned.
