Speech Language Pathologist for 2023-24 School Year
- Assesses and reports speech and language skills as related to Article 7 and the general education curriculum.
- Screens, schedules, and implements RTI related to the general education curriculum.
- Develops and maintains compliant IEPs for identified speech-language impaired students meeting individual needs, interests, and abilities. Participates in case conferences to review diagnostic information, present levels of performance and student progress. Follows best practices regarding compliant case conference paperwork.
- Plans, schedules, and provides direct services for students with speech-language impairments. Reviews student progress on goals and continuously assesses individual performance as it relates to the IEP. Instructs individuals to monitor their own speech-language skills and provides ways to practice these skills.
- Maintains all students’ speech-language records and provides reports and information as required by law and local compliance standards.
- Follows guidelines and maintains records for appropriate billing for Medicaid related speech-language services.
- Conducts yearly hearing screenings on all required students and those referred for a special education evaluation. Records data on school records and sends information to parents. Completes required state hearing reports.
- Collaborates with parents, teachers, paraprofessionals, psychologists, principals, and agencies to promote speech-language development.
- Understands and implements the use of assistive technology with students and consults with staff as needed.
- Maintains equipment and supplies.
- Attends meetings and conferences to promote professional growth and to maintain necessary licensures.
- Provides ongoing professional development activities for school and community when requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
