Academic Success Tutors will assist students in a variety of academic subjects. Tutors can work up to 20 hours per week. The hours are flexible and vary between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
 

Job Summary:
 
Academic Success Tutors are responsible for supporting students by assisting them with academic success strategies. The tutor will work to support students to become more independent learners and reach their outlined academic goals. Tutors will provide individual and/or group tutoring to students across a broad range of subjects and courses based on their personal areas of expertise. 
 

Minimum Qualifications: 
 
• Valid Ohio teaching certificate or license issued by ODE

• Strong knowledge of the specified academic subject or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training

• A commitment to public education, social justice, and equitable outcomes for all students;

• Experience in working with diverse populations 

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills;      
 
Salary:  $25.00/hour

Description:  Under the supervision of the building principal you will engage and support identified students in reaching academic and school success. Providing assistance individually and/or in groups to students who have been identified as chronically absent, and are at least two credits behind based on expected graduation progression. This role is instrumental in helping students with courses, school work, graduation,and school completion. Also, to help overcome social challenges, attendance issues, and other academic/social/emotional barriers that may interfere with school success. Candidate will perform additional duties related to assigned responsibilities and essential functions or other responsibilities assigned by the Principal/Superintendent.

Job Summary:   7.0 hours/day (8:00am - 3:30pm), 5 days/week, 195 days/year
 
Minimum Qualifications: 
•       2 years of college coursework
•       OR an Associate's Degree or higher
•       OR high school diploma with passage of the ParaPro Assessment prior to employment
•       One year of related successful work experience (preferably experience with students)
•       Strong interpersonal skills
•       Behavioral management skills substantiated by training/work experience
•       A valid Educational Aide Permit (1-Year or 4-Year) or a license issued by ODE
•       Experience in operating basic office equipment, such as copiers and electronic devices 
•       Basic computer skills deemed appropriate to assist students and be successful 
•       Physical ability to perform all other essential functions of the job

 
Preferred Qualification:
Certification in a related area
