St. Nicholas Charity on Wheels is a ministry of Catholic Charities serving those in need throughout the Diocese of Peoria. Each month, individuals and families receive essential supplies such as toiletries and household cleaning products, based on available donations and community needs.
 
We are currently seeking a Van Driver to help us carry out our mission. This role ensures the safe and timely transportation of goods and individuals to various locations, playing a vital part in our outreach efforts.
 
What You Will Do
• Transport supplies, donations, and, when necessary, individuals to and from designated locations.
• Assist with loading and unloading items as needed.
• Ensure vehicle cleanliness and perform routine maintenance checks.
• Follow all traffic laws and organizational safety policies.
• Provide courteous and professional interactions with staff, clients, and community partners.
• Collaborate with Catholic Charities staff and volunteers assigned to the van.
 
What You Need
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
• Strong time management and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
• Completion of required training upon hire.
 
Top Candidates Will Also Have
• Previous experience as a driver.
• Experience working with nonprofit organizations or community service programs.
• CPR/First Aid certification
• Familiarity with the local area.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
 
What You Will Get
• Hourly Rate: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour, based on skills and experience.
• Retirement Savings: Eligibility to participate in a 403(b) retirement plan.
