About the Role
- The Head Football Coach will be responsible for leading and developing the high school football program in alignment with STM’s mission and values. The successful candidate will be a role model for students, parents, and the community while fostering a positive and competitive team environment. This position provides a unique opportunity to build a strong and successful program to bring the school back into the 11-man football league.
What You Will Do - Faith Development: Promote a culture where student-athletes are committed to their faith, incorporating prayer, reflection, and Christian values into team activities.
- Athlete Development: Mentor and develop student-athletes in athletic, academic, and personal growth, fostering a positive and respectful team environment.
- Community Engagement: Serve as a visible and respected role model for the school and broader community, fostering strong relationships with students, parents, and stakeholders.
- Program Leadership: Plan and execute practices, develop game strategies, and manage all aspects of the football program, including equipment, budgets, and scheduling.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure all activities adhere to IHSA rules, school policies, and best practices for player safety.
What You Need
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Proven ability to inspire and develop young athletes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding and commitment to Catholic values
- Familiarity with best practices for conditioning, injury prevention, and safe gameplay
Top Candidates Will Also Have - Previous experience building or rebuilding a sports program
- IHSA coaching certification
What You Will Get - Salary: $4,600 per year
- Free admission to all STM home sporting events throughout the year (IHSA Playoffs excluded)
