The Community Engagement Specialist promotes and enhances the overall vision and mission of the school district by providing services that strengthen home/school/community partnerships and alleviates barriers to learning. The Community Engagement Specialist significantly contributes to the development of a healthy, safe, and caring environment by advancing the understanding of:
- the social and emotional development of children;
- the influences of family, community, and cultural differences on student success;
- the identification and application of effective intervention and support strategies in collaboration with building administrators and student assistance teams.
?LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in field relevant to this position;
- Five years of successful experience working in social services or a related field;
- A valid State of Iowa driver’s license;
- A valid mandatory abuse training certificate
- Valid bloodborne pathogens and right to know training certificates
- Successful completion of criminal background investigation
- Willingness to obtain chauffeur's license at district cost
