Student Hours:
1st Grade - 8th Grade: 8:30 am -12:30 pm
PK and K: 9:00 am - 11:30 pm
Qualifications:
Demonstrates excellence in verbal and written communications
Experience with collaborative groups and processes in a student-centered environment
To obtain the Paraprofessional license that is valid for 5 years:
Beginning January 1, 2023, you may qualify by meeting the requirements outlined below at age 18 but only may serve in prekindergarten through grade 8.
One of the following required:
- Associate degree or higher
- ?60 semester hours of coursework
- High School Diploma or GED and a score of 460 or higher on the ETS Parapro
- High School Diploma or GED and the following scores on the ACT Workkeys
- Applied Mathematics/Applied Math (with a score of 4)
- Reading for information/Workplace Documents (with a score of 4)
To obtain a Short-Term Paraprofessional license that is valid for 3 years:
- High school diploma (or equivalent), or higher
- While working on the approval, educator must be fulfilling requirements for the full license
Performance Responsibilities: This employee is responsible for assisting students in feeding, health needs, mobility, personal hygiene, and monitoring self-control. This employee may also be asked to reinforce skills introduced by the teacher by working individually with a student or with a small group of students. Also, this employee will supervise/assist students during arrival and dismissal. In addition, this employee is responsible for preparing classroom materials for instruction and perform other job-related tasks assigned by the teacher/supervisor.
Physical Demands:
- Sit, stand, talk and hear for extended periods of time, operate electronic equipment; and reach with hands and arms and will repeat actions with the same hand, arm or finger motion.???
- ?Have vision abilities required include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus. (The ability to withstand long-term use of computer devices is required.)?
- To have occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling and significant finger dexterity actions.???
- Meet work deadlines with severe time constraints, interacting with the public and staff, within irregular or extended work hours.?
Pay: $20 per hour
