Candlewood Lake Elementary School is looking for Excellent Long Term Sub-Certified Speech Language Pathologist in the Pre-School Program for the remainder of the 2024- 2025 School year.

Responsibilities:
 
• Conducting evaluations to assess students' speech, language, and communication abilities.
• Developing individualized therapy plans based on the student's specific needs, and providing direct therapy to students who need assistance with speech, language, voice, fluency, or swallowing disorders.
• Working closely with teachers, special education staff, and parents to integrate speech and language goals into the student’s daily routine and academic curriculum.
• Completing all required administrative tasks, including tracking and documenting students' progress in meeting therapy goals and reporting progress to parents and school teams
 
Requirements:
 
• Certificatin from Department of Public Health (DPH) & Speech And Language Pathologist Certification 061.
• Experience teaching at the Pre-School and  elementary level preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Passion for working with children and fostering a positive learning experience.

Candlewood Lake Elementary School is seeking a passionate and qualified Part-Time( 0.4 FTE)  Bilingual Teacher ( Portuguese) to support the social, emotional, linguistic, and academic development of Portuguese-speaking multilingual learners in grades K-5. This position will focus on providing bilingual support to emerging bilingual students who are within their first 30 months of learning English.
 
Position: Part-Time Bilingual (Portuguese) Teacher
Location: Brookfield Public Schools- Candlewood Lake Elementary School
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
• Provide targeted bilingual instruction to Portuguese-speaking students in grades K-5.
• Prepares lesson plans that achieve clear content and language objectives, uses appropriate techniques, identifies observable and measurable success criteria, and serves the needs of all learners in the classroom
• Address the social and emotional needs of students while promoting positive academic and language development.
• Demonstrates strong content- area standard knowledge, particularly knowledge of the Connecticut English Language Proficiency Standards (CELP)
• Administer, interpret, and support the completion of language proficiency assessments in accordance with school and district guidelines.
• Maintains ongoing communication with parents utilizing multiple communication methods keeping them up-to-date of student progress 
• Builds relationships and collaborates well with the ESOL team, classroom teachers, interventionists, etc.  
 
Qualifications:
 
• Current Connecticut Bilingual Elementary Education Endorsement (902) is preferred. TESOL Certification (111) with demonstrated Portuguese proficiency will be considered in cases of shortage.
• Elementary Education Certification with demonstrated proficiency in Portuguese and a commitment to obtaining a bilingual endorsement may also be considered.
• Knowledge of bilingual and ESOL teaching methods, including differentiated instruction, language acquisition strategies, and cultural sensitivity.
• Familiarity with multilingual learner identification, parent communication, and annual assessment procedures.
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and families to foster a positive and inclusive educational environment.
• Strong communication and organizational skills, with a focus on student-centered support.
