DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Monitor campus, parking lots, lunch areas, and middle school building to prevent property damage, provide security, and regulate unauthorized persons from being on campus. Do timely perimeter checks of campus.

• Mediate student conflicts, Investigate drug and alcohol cases, complete student searches and communicate with SRO's when needed. Monitor students in order to eliminate truancy and to prevent physical altercations, disagreements, and drug and alcohol use on campus. Assist teachers with disruptive students and assist admin in front office security. Implement and enforce attendance policy and dress code.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Specialized courses in law enforcement and/or security preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Interpret and/or transliterate all academic instruction, films, assemblies, conferences, student meetings, individualized education plan meetings, field trips, extra-curricular activities and support services in and out of the classroom for Deaf/Hard of Hearing student(s). When voicing for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students(s), exhibit a good range of sophisticated vocabulary; native like expression, and infrequent use of circumlocution. Use clear articulation with consistent pronunciation, intonation, and affect to sound like native speaker. Have strong command of grammatical structure and evidence of command of complex instruction for complete comprehension. Speech is effortless and smooth; rate and production approach that of a native speaker comfortably. Interpret: the process of changing spoken English into the preferred manual mode of communication for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing student, or vice versa. Transliterate: the process of changing spoken English into a manual communication mode that maintains the grammar and syntax of the English language, or vice versa. Translate: the process of interpreting the spoken English preferred manual mode of communication into spoken English, or vice versa.
• Tutor Deaf/Hard of Hearing students (under the supervision of coordinating Teacher of the Deaf), both in and out of the classroom individually or in small groups by reinforcing concepts taught in the mainstream classes; assisting with missed assignments; modeling language; reinforcing vocabulary, study skills and life skills; assisting in learning variations of sign systems; developing of language concepts; changing CASE/PSE into written English; and teaching students the role of the interpreter, students’ rights and responsibilities in how to use an interpreter.
• As a member of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing student’s education team, communicate with the team (e.g., mainstream teachers, teachers of the Deaf and support staff) to give and receive appropriate information/progress/problems that may impact a student’s performance or learning, including, but not limited to, mode of communication, tutoring strategies, educational goals of student, curriculum content, classroom goals and student educational rights and services. May assist with personal hearing equipment (e.g. helping a student put hearing aids in) and/or assist with district hearing equipment (e.g. DM systems). May be asked to support instructors on monitoring behavior during class and extra-curricular activities; follow through with behavior programs established for individual students; use various equipment, augmentative communication systems or adaptations, any OT/PT requirements set forth in student I.E.P. (individual educational plan) and any medical conditions that require staff monitoring. Analyze and review instructional material to prepare for content and message delivery. Ensure appropriate logistics (e.g., lighting, seating, etc.). DESCRIPTION:  The Health/Office Paraprofessional is trained by and works directly under the license and direction of the School Nurse.  They will provide basic health care and first aid to students in accordance with their training and district policies. In addition, they are responsible to maintain appropriate health records, support and serve as backup to the office secretaries by assisting with basic office duties such as answering phones, taking messages, greeting visitors, and assisting as appropriate with projects.
 
SALARY: Classified Grade I, $18.75 - $23.13 per hour to start, depending on recent relevant experience.  Time split between Office Para and Health Aide positions. 8.5 hours per day, Tuesday through Friday on the 9-month work calendar.  Paid over 12 months.  Position is eligible for benefits.
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
• Respond and evaluate injuries and illness in emergency situations following first aid and CPR procedures in accordance with district policies.
• As soon as safely possible notify or cause notification of School Registered Nurse and building administrator of all emergency situations. When activating emergency 911 medical systems according to American Red Cross Guidelines you must notify parents.
• Care for ill or injured students, notify parent and School Registered Nurse when necessary of student illness or injury and prepare student to go home as needed.
• Communicate with the School Registered Nurse regarding student absences due to health reasons to assist in identifying students with possible significant health concerns (communicable or nuisance disease, injury, hospitalizations, etc.
• Administer medications to students under the delegation of the School Registered Nurse according to Colorado Nurse Practice Act.
• Ensure proper immunization status of all students by documenting immunization records, and by contacting parents of non-compliant students.  Keep School Registered Nurse and building administrator informed of progress in the compliance process.
• Generate and maintain accurate and detailed health records of clinic activities and individual student health care. Notify school staff of revisions or changes in policy or health care plans.
• Coordinate vision and hearing screenings at the building level and do vision and hearing screening individually as needed.
• Maintain the school health clinic in a clean and orderly manner. Keep supplies stocked.
• Assist office staff with mail distribution, sorting documents, and newsletters.
• Assist office staff with basic office tasks such as; answering phones, taking messages, greeting visitors, making copies, collating papers, etc. as appropriate.
• Assist with special office projects as needed.
