Summary of position:
To assist students with visual impairments to achieve maximum independence through instruction in safe, efficient travel within the home, school, and community.  Services also include instruction in compensatory skills including daily living skills, self-advocacy, and recreation or leisure skills as related to orientation and mobility.

Job Responsibilities (see attached job description for additional details):
• Perform orientation and mobility evaluations that focus on long- and short-term needs of the student on new referrals and on multi-year re-evaluations.
• Include in the assessment report the needs and strengths of the student and an estimate of the length and frequency of service necessary to meet identified needs.
• Contribute to other appropriate portions of the IEP, such as goals and recommendations.
• Provide consultation and support services to parents, regular and special education teachers, other school personnel, and students' sighted peers.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree from an approved college or university.
• Association for Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired (AER)/Academy certification.
• Pennsylvania certification for teachers of students with visual impairments preferred.
• Experience with school-age and young children preferred.

Schedule:
 Full-time, 10 months/year

Salary:
•             Bachelor = $49,919 to $78,690
• Bach+15 credits = $50,636 to $79,415
• Bach+24 credits = $51,427 to 80,215
•              Masters = $61,370 to 90,955
• Mast+15 credits = $62,063 to 91,655
• Mast+30 credits = $62,755 to 92,355
• Mast+45 credits = $64,141 to 93,755
• Mast+60 credits = $65,377 to 95,005

Summary of position:
The Infant Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant increases the understanding of social and emotional development and its impact on educational success, link and bridge systems and services on behalf of a child, family and program, and reduces the number of children expelled from early learning facilities due to behavior issues.

This position is a field position and includes traveling to child care programs to provide consultation supports, etc.  Early childhood system experience is preferred.

Job Responsibilities (see attached job description for additional details):
• The I/Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant (IECMHC) is responsible for providing early childhood mental health consultation to early childhood programs to support early childhood professionals, children, and families.  I/ECMHC’s emphasis is on improving child outcomes indirectly by enhancing caregivers’ abilities to nurture children’s social emotional development and addressing challenging behaviors.
• General Child/Classroom/Program Observations, Consultation, and Coaching within early learning programs as assigned, including but not limited to Social Emotional screenings and other outcome measures as identified in program model and use findings to inform the action planning process
• Work collaboratively with EC professional to design and implement practices responsive to the identified behavioral and mental health concerns of an identified child or group of children (classroom or program) which reflect consultee’s/child’s culture, skills, strengths, needs, and preferences
Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree (preferred) in human services related field (Psychology, Social Work, Early Childhood Education).  BA with seven years of experience in the above fields considered.
• Infant and/or Early Childhood Mental Health Endorsement (preferred) or willingness to obtain
• At least five years of post-degree experience that includes: child mental health, related human service field or early childhood settings
• Knowledge of child development, developmentally appropriate practice, infant/early childhood mental health
Schedule:
 Full-time, 37.5 hours/week, 12 months/year

Salary:
Established by the Intermediate Unit Board of Directors per the Compensation and Benefits Plan for PA Key, Classification – Education Specialist.

Regional Location:
Northeast Region of PA (Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and surrounding areas). Hired staff will work remotely from home office and travel to/from child care programs to provide consultation supports.

The bus/van assistant assists the driver in providing safe transportation services to the school districts served by the Berks County Intermediate Unit.

• Partner with the driver to manage and monitor students in vehicle while in transit which requires remaining seated behind the last student on the bus/van unless directed otherwise.
• Inspect the vehicle at the school and assist the driver at the end of each run to ensure no children are left on the vehicle.
• Assist driver with daily paperwork.
• Maintain approved time schedule using only Transportation Office established routes and designated stops and accurately record actual hours worked on timesheets.

Qualifications:
• Valid PA Driver’s License preferred.
• Hold, obtain and maintain current and valid Red Cross and CPR Certification.
• Pass the appropriate non-school bus driver’s physical examination.
• Negative drug/alcohol screenings.
• Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.

Schedule:
Part-time, split shift a.m. and p.m., average 20-25 hours/week

• Inspect the vehicle at the end of each run to ensure no children are left on the vehicle.
• Complete and document the pre-trip and post-trip inspection.
• Document and notify supervisor, of unusual student behavior and/or concern about a child’s welfare, unless otherwise instructed.

Qualifications:
• A School Bus Driver must have the following:
 
1. Hold and maintain valid PA Commercial Driver's License with proper endorsements, to include Passenger (P), School Bus (S) and Air Brake (L)
2. Hold, obtain and maintain current, valid Red Cross First Aid Course and CPR Certificate.
3. Pass the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania School Bus Driver’s Physical Examination.
 
• Ability to identify geographic areas as required.
• Negative drug/alcohol screenings

Schedule:
 Part-time, split shift a.m. and p.m., average 20-25 hours/week
 
Salary:
Up to $32.55/hour
