Primary Purpose:
Under the direction of BISD’s Curriculum & Instruction Department and Principal, the Elementary Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Teacher provides support for STEM instruction to elementary students. The Elementary STEM Teacher provides, cutting-edge, creative resources to extend the work of regular classroom teachers, which includes, but is not limited to, the areas of training, developing teaching modules, and serving as a teacher coach. 
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
Valid Texas Teaching Certificate
National Board Certification in a STEM discipline, preferred
Three years of exemplary classroom teaching experience
One year of teacher leadership experience
 
Special Knowledge/Skills:
 
Proven ability to collaborate with teachers regarding student learning
In-depth understanding of student learning theory, brain-based learning, and differentiated instruction
Proven ability to use data and technology to improve instruction, and the ability to build professional relationships, solve problems, and plan collaboratively
Proven ability to deliver meaningful STEM professional development to teachers
