  Description: The Lowcountry Education Alternative Program, LEAP, is a job-embedded alternative certification program – the first of its kind in Beaufort County – to provide teaching experiences with professional development, coursework, mentoring and coaching.

This job posting is not for a school specific position.  The intent of this posting is to allow candidates to submit their application as a way of indicating that they are interested in a teaching position for the current or next school year.  This will allow Human Resources to contact candidates about possible opportunities within our district.  As school specific jobs are identified, applicants will need to apply for each position that they are interested in pursuing.  

Teachers will need to secure a South Carolina teaching credential in the appropriate content area in to be appropriately certified for the position that they are hired to fill.  Teachers are paid for the educational level and work experience to the South Carolina teaching credential.  

Qualifications: If you hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in math or science, we encourage you to apply!
If selected, you can teach targeted content area in middle or high schools and receive a teacher salary. A team of professionals will be dedicated to your growth as a teacher. Upon successful completion of the three-year program, you will receive a teacher certification.
