POSITION SUMMARY
The Instructional Materials Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement, distribution, and inventory management of instructional resources across a large school district. This role ensures that all schools have access to high-quality, standards-aligned instructional materials that support student learning and achievement. The manager collaborates with curriculum specialists, school administrators, and district leadership to evaluate, select, and implement educational resources, including textbooks, digital learning tools, and supplementary materials. The incumbent will help with the operational support of the Teaching and Learning Department and must know about curriculum and instruction design and development.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is required.
- Master’s Degree in Education Leadership, Curriculum & Instruction, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: - Educational Leadership certification preferred.
WORK EXPEREINCE: - 3 to 5 years of experience in instructional materials management, procurement, curriculum coordination, or educational administration required
- Experience in K-12 education (such as teaching, instructional leadership, or school operations) preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES - Strong understanding of K-12 curriculum frameworks, instructional materials selection, and alignment with state and district standards.
- Knowledge of website management software and data management systems.
- Knowledge of learning management systems.
- Knowledge of curriculum, design, and development.
- Understanding of inventory control systems, distribution processes, and tracking of instructional resources across multiple schools.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to work with vendors, administrators, educators, and stakeholders.
- Ability to provide guidance and professional development to educators on effectively integrating instructional materials into teaching.
- Ability to develop and implement long-term instructional material plans aligned with district goals and student needs.
- Ensuring accuracy in procurement, inventory tracking, and compliance with district and state policies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES

- Uploads, organizes, and maintains documents/resources in the department’s digital hub
- Ensure alignment of instructional materials with state and district curriculum standards, ensuring that all adopted resources meet academic requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate reorders to prevent shortages and ensure timely availability of textbooks, digital resources, and supplementary materials.
- Analyze data on material usage and effectiveness to support decision-making and optimize resource allocation based on student and teacher needs.
- Provide training and support to educators and staff on the proper use of instructional materials, including digital platforms and emerging educational technologies.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding instructional materials adoption, procurement processes, and funding requirements.
- Collaborate with district administrators, curriculum specialists, and teachers to evaluate and select instructional resources that enhance student learning outcomes.
- Oversee the implementation and management of digital learning tools to ensure that technology-based instructional materials are effectively integrated into classrooms.
- Required to have prompt, regular attendance in-person, virtually and be able to work on-site, during regular business hours and as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by an appropriate administrator or their representative.
