POSITION SUMMARY
The Hourly Teacher works directly with students to provide academic, social, and emotional support within a structured environment. The role focuses on helping students develop the skills necessary for success, both in school and beyond, by delivering tailored instructional support and interventions. The Hourly Teacher collaborates with school staff, parents, and community stakeholders to create individualized learning plans and uses innovative, culturally responsive teaching methods.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: - Must maintain T4 Georgia Teaching Certificate for K-5 which includes in-service training related to position.
- Special Education Certificate preferred
WORK EXPEREINCE: - Minimum of 3-5 years of classroom teaching experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES - Provides academic support and guidance for middle and high school students
- Provides academic intervention support to identified students through small group and/or individualized instruction.
- Develops and implements lesson plans to address individual student goals pursuant to teacher direction.
- Assists with tracking student progress of individual goals.
- Assists teacher with administration of diagnostic assessments.
- Provides feedback of tutorial services outcomes to teacher and school turnaround staff.
- Utilizes and ensures consistent implementation of behavior techniques and classroom management techniques and data collection.
- Provides required documentation as required.
- Attends meetings, workshops, and in-service sessions, as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES - Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques to maintain a conducive learning environment.
- Ability to plan, develop, and implement tutoring sessions that address individual student needs, while utilizing various resources and materials to reinforce learning.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks, maintain detailed records of student progress, and prepare appropriate instructional materials.
- Ability to build rapport with students, encourage active participation, and foster a positive learning atmosphere.

Upper Body Mobility: Ability to use hands to grasp and manipulate small objects; manipulate fingers, twist and bend at wrist and elbow; extend arms to reach outward and upward; use hands and arms to lift objects; turn, raise, and lower head.
Strength: Ability to lift, push, pull and/or carry objects which weigh as much as 15 or more pounds on a frequent basis.
Environmental Requirements: Ability to encounter constant work interruptions; work cooperatively with others; work independently; work indoors.
Mental Requirements: Ability to read, write, understand, interpret and apply information at a moderately complex level essential for successful job performance; math skills at a high school proficiency level; judgement and the ability to process information quickly; learn quickly and follow verbal procedures and standards; give verbal instruction; rank tasks in order of importance; copy, compare, compile and coordinate information and records. Additional Work Conditions & Physical Abilities: Will require travel to multiple sites.

COMPENSATION
Salary Grade: $50.00 per hour

Work Days: Not to exceed 29 hours per week
