JOB DESCRIPTION 
 
1. Support AJUSD Vision, Mission, and Goals. 
2. Assists the Principal in creating and maintaining a work environment that enables staff and students to attain the unique goals and objectives of the District and communities involved. 
3. Supervises the student athletic program. 
4. Hires and supervises all coaching staff. 
5. Supervises the reporting and monitoring of student attendance referrals and discipline and works with the other Assistant Principals in relevant follow-up. 
6. Evaluates staff as assigned by the Principal. 
7. Interviews, recommends for hire, trains employees; plans, assigns, and directs work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems. 
8. Prepares and administers budgets connected with assigned areas of responsibility. 
9. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies and applicable laws.
10. Assists in the general administration of the school as assigned by the Principal.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS 
 
1. Master’s degree in Education from an accredited college or university

Salary:  $15.59 - $19.77 (Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification.)

SUMMARY
Works under supervision in the performance of the following instructional tasks in classroom, and to assist teacher of elementary or secondary school by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Discusses assigned teaching area with classroom teacher to coordinate instructional efforts.
Prepares various teaching aids such as bibliographies, charts, and graphs.
Presents subject matter to students, utilizing variety of methods and techniques such as lecture, discussion, and supervised role playing.
Assists students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts.
Assist teacher with updating and maintaining accurate student records.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Completion of two years or more at an accredited college or university, or completion of 60 college credits, or an Associate's Degree or higher, or a passing score on a state approved Para Pro Test.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
