7th Grade Girls Volleyball Coach
Position Summary: This position is responsible for coaching student-athletes in proper techniques and game strategies so that they may achieve a high level of skill to utilize in athletic competition. This position motivates student-athletes to develop an appreciation for the sport and the discipline, sportsmanship and teamwork involved in Volleyball.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Meet State and District requirements as an athletic coach
• Work with players during practices and events to assess skills and assign team positions
• Develop practice schedule and organize practices to provide both individual and team development
• Work with Athletic Director in scheduling facilities for practices
• Establish and maintain standards of student behavior and provide proper supervision of students at all times
• Monitor academic performance of team members to ensure eligibility requirements
• Model sport-like behavior and maintain appropriate professional conduct by being a positive role model
• Follow established procedures for uniforms and equipment
• Enforce rules of the team, including those regarding tardiness, missed practices and/or games, or unsportsmanlike conduct
• Hold tryouts to select members of the team
• Develop and maintain a youth feeder program for Whitko Girls Volleyball
Related Duties and Responsibilities:
Attend in-service training and staff meetings as needed.
Inspect facilities and athletic fields for health and safety concerns.
Supervise athletic events as needed.
