Position Summary: An elementary teacher is responsible for fostering a safe, engaging learning environment, developing and implementing lesson plans, assessing student progress, and collaborating with parents and school staff to support student development in core subjects.
 
 
 
Reports To: Principal
 
 
 
Knowledge, Skills & Implementation
 
• Equipped with academic aptitude, personal integrity and patience

• Display strong organizational skills

• Effective communication with administration, staff, colleagues, students and parents

• Keep accurate records of achievement and attendance

• Serve as a role model for our students and community

• Conducts assigned activities from the administration in conformity with the approved policies of Whitko School Corporation, the Board of Education, and State and Federal Law.

• Performs other tasks as assigned by the principal and other administrative staff as designated by the superintendent
 
 
 
Instructional Leadership
 
• Create lesson plans that align with grade-level standards and establish a routine

• Monitor student’s progress and provide individual support when needed

• Support academic, behavioral, and social growth of students

• Be positive and creative to encourage all students to participate and learn

• Manage classroom with effective leadership and invoke approved disciplinary procedures when necessary
 
 
 
Qualifications & Requirements
 
• Bachelor’s degree

• Certified Teacher

• Teaching experience preferred
