    Location: Palmyra School District, Palmyra, NJ
    Employment Type: Full-Time, 12-Month Position 

    About the District:

    Palmyra School District is a close-knit and diverse educational community dedicated to academic excellence, equity, and student success. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to serve as the Director of Curriculum & Instruction and Preschool Principal. This dual-role position is responsible for driving instructional excellence across the district while providing strong leadership for our preschool program. 

    Position Overview:

    The Director of Curriculum & Instruction/Preschool Principal is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing curriculum development, instructional strategies, professional development, and assessment practices district-wide. This role also includes serving as the Preschool Principal, ensuring a high-quality early childhood education experience aligned with state standards and best practices. 

    Key Responsibilities:

     

    Curriculum & Instruction Responsibilities:

     
    • Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of district-wide curriculum and instructional programs aligned with New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS).
       
    • Analyze student performance data to drive instructional improvements and equitable academic outcomes.
       
    • Develop and oversee professional development programs for faculty and staff.
       
    • Ensure compliance with state and federal education requirements, including NJDOE mandates and grant funding guidelines.
       
    • Collaborate with school leaders to enhance instructional practices and expand academic offerings.
       
    • Oversee the selection and implementation of instructional resources, including textbooks and digital learning tools.
       
    • Monitor and support teacher effectiveness through observations, coaching, and data-driven strategies.
       
     

    Preschool Principal Responsibilities:

     
    • Provide leadership and oversight for the district’s preschool program, ensuring alignment with the NJ Preschool Teaching and Learning Standards.
       
    • Supervise preschool staff, ensuring high-quality instruction and a nurturing learning environment.
       
    • Engage families and community stakeholders in early childhood education initiatives.
       
    • Oversee preschool enrollment, budgeting, compliance with NJDOE Preschool Expansion Aid (PEA), and other funding requirements.
       
    • Ensure preschool students have a safe, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
       
    • Implement and monitor special education and intervention services in early childhood education.
       
     

    Qualifications:

     

    Required Certifications:

     
    • A New Jersey School Administrator Certificate or Certificate of Eligibility and/or
       
    • New Jersey Principal Certificate or Certificate of Eligibility.
       
    Required Experience:
    • Minimum of five (5) years of successful experience in education, with at least three (3) years in an administrative/supervisory role.
       
    • Proven track record of leading curriculum development and instructional improvement initiatives.
       
    • Experience in early childhood education leadership, including knowledge of NJDOE preschool standards.
       
    • Strong understanding of data analysis, assessment tools, and student performance metrics.
       
    • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education.
       
    • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
       
     

    Preferred Qualifications:

     
    • Experience with grant writing and managing state/federal education funding.
       
    • Background in implementing social-emotional learning (SEL) programs and interventions.
