General Job Description:             
The CTE Agriculture/Welding Program is designed to teach students the fundamentals of agriculture and welding, preparing them for careers in the agricultural industry, metal fabrication, and related fields. Students will explore career pathways and develop the skills necessary for success in welding, fabrication, and agricultural mechanics through hands-on projects. Applying theoretical concepts to real-life situations, students will take what they have learned in the classroom to lab and shop experiences, where they gain practical expertise in welding techniques, equipment operation, and agricultural systems.
 
Qualifications (Education/Certification):
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Valid New Mexico teaching license with endorsements as needed.
• Ability to earn a New Mexico Secondary Vocational License

CTE Instructor Responsibilities:

Work schedules will be assigned to best meet the needs of the students and may be altered at any time to accommodate the students. Under the general direction of the Transportation Coordinator, the Bus Driver is responsible for inspecting and operating the school bus to transport students to and from school and special events.

• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred.
• Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam.
• The following educational requirements can be completed after employment: District and state training provided each year. Certificate of in-service training required. First aid basic certification. Eight hours of annual in-service training.

• Operates bus, picking up and transporting students to and from school or special activities.
• Pre-inspects bus, checking oil fluid levels, belts, lights, under-carriage, brakes tire pressure, exhaust, suspension, etc. Fills in daily pre-trip inspection record.
• Fuels bus at contract suppliers
• Cleans bus on daily basis, sweeping, washing floors, washing windows, cleaning seats, and removing trash.
• Monitors students and traffic as students enter streets to board or exit bus. • Contacts teacher, parents, and school administration to discuss students’ behavior. Completes Bus Conduct report as required.
• Fills out daily payroll sheet which is turned in monthly. Submits payroll and pre-trip authorizations to District.
• Receives training in First Aid and provides assistance to students as required.
• Educates students on bus rules and safety. Continually maintains and enforces discipline as needed, verbally or in writing as required. (Utilizes Incident Report as needed)
• Participates in annual District in-service training and attends other special training programs as available (safety, emergency procedures, and certifications required by the State).
• Conducts safety drills (evacuation drills conducted twice a year). Written evacuation plan must be turned in to supervisor two times per year and posted in bus.
• Maintains seating charts in collaboration with teachers.
• Operates radio, communicating with Transportation Department when necessary.
Cleans up after sickness, accidents and spills.
• Maintains log book.
• Reports personal injuries, medications taken, and disabilities to District.
• Reports accidents immediately.

• Follow al HAACP guidelines.
• Serve meals to students, staff and parents.
• Be ready and willing to assist fellow workers as situations arise.
• Help put away deliveries in a safe manner, rotating stock using FIFO.
• Sweep and mop floors as needed.
• Remove trash from kitchen and dining room if applicable.
• Follow all local and Health regulation.
• Follow district policies and administrative rules and regulations.
• Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the cafeteria as directed by the manager or immediate supervisor.
• Ultimate accountability for all duties within the scope on this position’s responsibilities.
• Submitting reports as directed and in compliance with deadlines.
• Other functions, duties and responsibilities as may be assigned or which are necessary or appropriate to the position.
Physical Requirements: 
Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods (up to 5 hours). Be physically able to lift, reach, bend and stoop. Must possess a food handler’s card within two (2) weeks of hire, if applicable. Must be able to safely lift and easily maneuver cases of food frequently weighing up to 40 pounds. The work also requires the following physical abilities in order to perform the essential job functions: balancing, crouching, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity and walking.

Work Environment:

• High school diploma or GED. Additional education and/or training desirable.
• Possess or qualify for a New Mexico Level III Educational Assistant license.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Display a desire to work with students.

• Contribute to the welfare and effectiveness of the classroom(s), the school, and the district by adhering to high standards of performance and interpersonal relationships.
• Model acceptable social skills in working with students, teachers, parents and supervisors.
• Report unsafe or dangerous surfaces and/or conditions in hallways, restrooms, playgrounds, entrances, and classrooms.
• Respond to the unique needs of the special education student.
• Other tasks as may be deemed appropriate and necessary by the immediate supervisor, the principal and/or the Superintendent.
 
Physical Requirements: 
Sitting, standing, lifting and carrying (up to 50 pounds), reaching, squatting, climbing stairs, kneeling, must be able to see and hear the entire classroom, and moving light furniture may be required.
 
Safety & Health:
• Knowledge of universal hygiene precautions.
 
Equipment/Material Handled: 
Must know how to properly operate, or be willing to learn to operate, all multimedia equipment including current technology. Fax machine, laminator, book binders, paper cutters, etc.
