General Information

Substitute for Kids Campus staff members. Hours will depend on staffing needs. Hours are flexible, as coordinator will work with substitute’s availability and desired schedule.

Children participate in a variety of academic enrichment, recreational and cultural activities that informally support learning and social development. Life and social skills, such as cooperation, teamwork, and problem solving are fostered in a caring and accepting environment.

Reporting Relationships

Works directly under the general supervision of the School Age Care Coordinator; work direction provided by Site Leads.

Responsibilities

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the duties below.

Independently implement appropriate enrichment and recreational activities planned by Site Leads for a group of up to 15 children and/or jointly responsible for leading larger groups in cooperation with other staff.
Provide appropriate behavior guidance and disciplinary action as needed.
Develop supportive relationships with Camp Horizon's participants and families.
Build community and establish a welcoming, engaging, respectful, cooperative environment.
Teach and model social skills, personal responsibility, problem solving, respect, and related skills.
Carry out appropriate health and safety procedures.
Must participate with children in active indoor and outdoor recreational activities including swimming and walking.
Implement and actively support the policies, procedures, and goals of the District and Camp Horizon.
Maintain a clean, attractive environment in programming areas.
Practice effective teamwork; work cooperatively and collaboratively with co-workers and school staff.
Report to work on time and complete assigned hours.
Attend all required staff development sessions and staff meetings.
Follow child accountability and supervision of children procedures.
Provide accommodations for children with special needs and modify activities as needed to ensure respectful inclusion.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Summary: Under the direction of the Director Building & Maintenance, the Maintenance Specialist is responsible for performing a wide variety of semi-skilled preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair activities within the building of a mechanical, electrical, HVAC, carpentry or plumbing nature to ensure building are in proper running order and safe for students, staff and the public.

SECTION II: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Troubleshoots, operates and services HVAC plants. Monitors, checks and makes sure all air handling units are running properly.
Operates and maintains HVAC, energy management, boiler and machinery in the building. Utilizes energy management systems to operate, adjust and diagnose mechanical, air handling, electrical and/or fire systems for maximum efficiency.
Coordinates and oversees building security. Assigns, secures and/or opens up building. Shuts off lights, closes windows, locks doors, sets building alarms.
Performs scheduled preventive maintenance on all mechanical, plumbing and electrical equipment/systems within the district.
Programs and adjusts all energy management system equipment to account for after school and weekend community activities.
Diagnoses, troubleshoots and makes repairs to all mechanical, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, or other repairs within the facilities of the district. Collaborates and works with local and state officials to assure repairs and facilities comply with building codes, rules, regulations and requirements.

Responds to all building requests/problems or concerns to ensure a safe, secure and comfortable environment in which to learn and work.
Inspects and monitors water quality in district swimming pool to minimize hazards and health standards/codes.
Performs other duties of a comparable level or type, as required.

Working with mechanical equipment poses potential risks and requires being aware of hands, limbs and clothing in relation to moving mechanical parts to prevent injury. Chemicals used in the Boiler Water Treatment Program pose potential risks for inhalation of fumes, chemical burns and skin absorption. Welding, steam or exhaust burns pose risks. JOB SUMMARY

Student Support
Percent of Time: 95%

Provides direct, indirect, and consultative communication therapy services under the supervision of an SLP, in accordance with the student’s IEP.
In collaboration with the SLP, advises on strategies to students, teachers, instructional assistants and others involved in the child’s care for the purpose of providing appropriate care to the student and/or supporting the student’s IEP.
Adapts school and classroom environments, tools, and materials in collaboration with the SLP for the purpose of improving student communication and facilitating student access to curricular and instructional activities.
Preps materials and makes visuals for speech services provided to students as needed.
Assists with transitioning skills into general education classrooms.
Maintains files and/or records including progress reports and day-to-day documentation for student services; includes documentation required for third party billing for provided services.
Drafts present levels of performance for review by the SLP.
Attends building and department meetings for the purpose of conveying and/or receiving information and relaying information to the SLP in a timely manner.
Maintains treatment equipment and supplies in clean and proper working condition.

Sets up cleaning cart before shift begins with paper products and cleaning supplies.
Participates in extensive summer cleaning schedules, routines and projects in building preparations for the new year.
Removes furniture from all classrooms; cleans sinks; washes walls and windows; strips and seal waxes floors.
Shampoos all carpets.
Paints lockers and classrooms.

Special Education Paraprofessional/Pupil Support Assistant for Extended School Year (ESY) Program (June 2025 - July 2025)

Position Purpose:
Under the direction of the ESY Teacher and the Director/Supervisor of Special Services, PSAs will provide instructional support and accommodations to students, implement curriculum modifications, assist with behavior management, and provide physical assistance for Activities of Daily Living (ADL), as needed.

Hours:

3.75 hours/day for the weeks of June 16-18, June 23-26, and June 30-July 3

Compensation: $22.00 per hour

Responsibilities and Duties

Assist the licensed teacher in providing instructional reinforcement, accommodations and managing student educational progress in the ESY classroom
Assist with data collection and behavior management techniques to ensure student success
Assist and support student learning with academics, social/emotional needs, and interpersonal skills
Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including toileting, feeding, dressing, as needed
Assist special education teacher in implementing district policies and procedures including but not limited to emergency procedures, data collection, positive behavior supports and non-violent crisis intervention as directed
Reinforce instruction through small group or individual activities
Ability to be flexible with schedule changes, student assignments, behavior regulation
Supervising and assisting students during lunch, arrival/departure from school, and other daily needs
Maintain a high level of respect, equity for all and confidentiality of information regarding students, staff and families
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Must meet one of the following requirements:
- at least two years of qualifying college credits (usually 60 credits in Minnesota) through an accredited institution of higher education, or;
- an associates or higher degree, with qualifying course work, or;
- a passing score on a valid and reliable formal assessment.
Proficient in oral and written communication skills
Ability to follow program direction as provided by teachers and administrators
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds in weight and support students with activities of daily living
Proficient in organizational skills
Ability to be punctual in reporting to work and for assigned duties during the day

Expectations: Applicants are asked to commit to the entire summer program/sessions barring unforeseen circumstances or pre-arrangements.
