Qualifications:
- Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Gifted Teacher Endorsement
- Comprehensive knowledge, understanding, and skill in content area/assignment
- Minimum 2 years of successful teaching experience preferred or relevant coursework within the last 3 years
- Knowledge and experience with Google suite
Responsibilities:
1. Provide direct service for high ability students identified for acceleration strand.
Provide direct instruction and evaluative student feedback as detailed in the district acceleration curriculum
Develop and review curriculum for high ability learners
Monitor achievement growth data of high ability students in assigned classes
Incorporate the use of technology
Access educational resources (inside and outside of school) for high ability students
Assist with the strategic plan for enrichment services and collaborate with Enrichment Team
2. Serve as case manager for talent pool and facilitator of acceleration services identification.
3. Provide direct and indirect classroom teacher support in regard to the Talent Development Program and differentiated classrooms.
4. Engage in ongoing professional development.
Participate in appropriate professional development as approved or assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum/Instruction, and conduct personal continuous, professional development by reading professional books, journals and other literature regarding students identified as gifted, talented or ready for accelerated learning.
