Description:
The School Police Officer shall be a sworn police officer with the power to arrest as defined and limited in the Pennsylvania Code. The officer must have good communication skills and organizational skills.
Emphasis shall be placed on the following:
- Visitors entering School Property.
- Perimeter (i.e. exterior doors and parking areas)
- Student traffic/activity
- Sports, and extra-curricular activities
- Students arriving and departing the Campuses
- Potential conflicts and signs of bullying
- Infractions Identified by District employees
- Security at all schools in the Franklin Regional School District
- Emergency response
Qualifications:
Graduate from Municipal Police Officer Education, Training Commission’s Police Academy, State Police Academy, or equivalent
Act 120 Certification
CPR/FirstAid/AED Certification
Act 168, Child Abuse, PA State Criminal History and PDE FBI Clearances as required by the Child Protective Services Law and PA School Code
Current clearances as required by the laws of Pennsylvania (24P.S.§1-111)
10 years experience preferred
School experience and NASRO Certification preferred, or must be completed immediately upon hire
Compensation
$26.00/hr, student days, district events and on campus activities
