Summary:
Our teachers create friendly learning environments where students are engaged and develop a love for learning.  Our teachers establish strong, positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.  They participate in teams within their own school building as well as district-level teams.  The Elementary Media Maker Space Teacher will meet with  classes weekly in the building Media Center to engage students in collaborative, inquiry-based, activities related to literature.  This teacher will also support students in selecting books for check out.

Responsibilities:
• Employ Interactive Real Aloud techniques that model literacy strategies and encourage engagement with literature.
• Develop, model, facilitate & assess cooperative inquiry and problem-solving activities in response to text.
• Incorporate technology into lesson design.
• Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
• Work collaboratively with District Media Specialist to develop and implement Media Maker Space Curriculum.
• Encourage and support a culture of literacy within the school.
• Maintain an organized & engaging Media Center environment for students.

Qualifications:
• Current Michigan teaching certification (required).
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, and regulations pertaining to the role.
• Ability to effectively communicate with colleagues and families.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from students, teachers, and staff.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
• Foster cooperative social behavior through games and group projects to assist children in forming strong, positive relationships with other children and adults.
• Discuss students’ strengths, progress, and concerns with parents.
• Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations.

Summary:
The Elementary Shared Time Spanish Immersion Kindergarten Teacher teaches the grade level curriculum, including literacy skills, math, science, social studies, and SEL.  Our teachers create friendly learning environments where students are engaged and develop a love for learning.  Our teachers establish strong, positive relationships with students, families and with colleagues.  They participate in grade level teams within their own school building and on district-level teams.  This is a shared time teaching position and will be teaching Kindergarten at Zeeland Christian School.

Responsibilities:
• Teach district approved curriculum in engaging ways, such as group discussion, dramatic play acting, and field trips to stimulate students’ interest in and broaden understanding of their physical and social environment.
• Develop lesson plans and instructional material and provide individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil.
• Communicate regularly with parents by means of newsletters, notes, phone calls, conferences, etc.
• Establish and maintain standards of student behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere.
• Evaluate students' academic and social growth, keep appropriate records and prepare progress reports.
• Identify student needs and make appropriate referrals and develop strategies for individual education plans.
• Is available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day.
• Plan and coordinate the work of paraprofessionals and volunteers in the classroom and on field trips.
Qualifications:
• Current Michigan teaching certificate with Elementary endorsement is required, Early Childhood endorsement is preferred. 
• Must be fluent in Spanish-both written and verbal.
• Ability to effectively write emails and other family communication.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from families and staff.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

Responsibilities:
• Plan physical education program to promote development of student's physical attributes and social skills.
• Teach individual and team sports to students, utilizing knowledge of sports techniques and of physical capabilities of students.
• Organize, lead, instruct and referee indoor and outdoor games such as volleyball, baseball, and basketball.
• Instruct individuals or groups in beginning or advanced calisthenics or corrective exercises, determining type and level of difficulty needed.
• Demonstrate and teach use of training apparatus such as weights.
• Confer with students, parents and appropriate staff to resolve student problem.
• Select, store, order, issue and inventory equipment, materials and supplies used in the physical education program.
• Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilites.
• Assist the administration in implementing policies and rules governing student life and conduct.
