POSITION TITLE: Instructional/Technology Coach
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Master’s Degree
· Valid teaching certificate licensing the individual to teach in the specialization and grade levels, pursuant to WV Code §18A-3-2
· Criminal background check conducted pursuant to WV Code §18-5-15c and/or §18A-3-10
· Meets the qualifications outlined in WV Code §18A-3-2a
· Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience
· Ability to demonstrate and maintain confidentiality between the central office, staff, and students
· Knowledge and ability to demonstrate current research-based instructional practices
· Positive, proactive, team-based problem-solving attitude
· Mindset to embrace challenges as opportunities for growth rather than obstacles.

· Experience in supporting technology school-wide or district-wide in classrooms, computer labs, and offices, as well as experience in integrating technology in the classroom.
· Expertise in specific technologies used in Morgan County Schools
· Physical ability to assist in the setup and troubleshooting of computer systems
· Experience in conducting professional development in educational technology
· Experience in the implementation of technology in the WVDE-approved curriculum

The position requires a valid driver’s license to provide own transportation to schools throughout the district. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, such as reading handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff members.

REPORTS TO: Director of Technology & Director of Secondary Education/CTE
EMPLOYMENT TERM: 220 Days
SALARY: Pursuant to WV Code §18A-4-2, in accordance with Morgan County Teacher Salary Schedule, commensurate with experience and education level.
EVALUATION: Performance in this position will be evaluated by the immediate supervisor and in accordance with WV State Code §18A-2-12, WV State Board Policy 5310, and Morgan County Board of Education Evaluation Policy.
JOB SUMMARY: To provide consistency and guidance in professional development and curriculum delivery for grades 6-12 as well as technology support for grades K-12.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Observe the mission of the school district
· Serve as a liaison between the school and the central office
· Establish a professional, collaborative relationship with colleagues
· Observe classroom teachers and provide constructive feedback, verbally or in writing, after each observation
· Model and coach instructional methods for classroom teachers, as needed, based on observations and/or requests
· Provide training on CIPA compliance and integration of Technology and Computer Science standards
· Mentor teachers and staff with the integration of technology devices (laptops, desktops, iPads, Chromebooks, interactive panels, document cameras, microphones, headphones, scanners, etc.) to facilitate an increased understanding of technology and its use in the classroom
· Provide professional development to groups of teachers/staff as well as individualized assistance
· Meet regularly with principals for planning, implementing, and evaluating, as well as facilitating the use of technology
· Coordinate ongoing and sustained professional learning communities (PLCs) within each school based on identified needs
· Assist staff in selecting and securing appropriate instructional materials, strategies, and programs as related to the subject/content being delivered
· Serve on committees as assigned
· Collaborate and coach teachers on the use of assessment data to plan instruction; analyze school data and plan for future needs
· Provide ongoing training and follow-up in the use of assessment tools
· Participate in vertical and horizontal collaborative instructional planning, assisting with alignment of curriculum and transition between programmatic levels
· Support in maintaining a comprehensive inventory of technology instructional equipment, materials, and resources
· Promote the school system’s philosophy and curriculum and interpret it to the school administration, staff, and public
· Participate in staff development activities to improve Standards of Practice for self and colleagues, including the latest technologies, practices, and programs in the computer field
· Keep informed and comply with state, district, and each school’s regulations and policies for classroom teachers
· Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required
· Adhere to the Employee Code of Conduct as outlined in Morgan County School’s Policy 3210
· Perform all other duties deemed appropriate and assigned by the Superintendent and/or immediate supervisor
