Position Title: Lifeguard
Position Description:
Lifeguards are primarily responsible for supervising and maintaining a safe pool environment. Lifeguards enforce facility rules and regulations and educate patrons about them.
Qualifications:
Westonka Spanish Program Substitute Instructor Community Education is seeking an instructor fluent in Spanish to teach before school Spanish classes to students in grades K - 4. Instructors must have excellent communication skills, ability to work independently, be able to build a positive rapport with elementary-age students and parents, and have enthusiasm for the language and culture. Experience with curriculum development is important as well as knowledge of songs, story telling, games, and cultural activities. Classes are held from 8:00 - 8:45 am at Shirley Hills Primary School on Mondays and Wednesdays, and Hilltop Primary School on Tuesdays and Thursdays (no class on non-school days). Pay is $40.00 - $50.00 per hour DOQ; also eilgible for sick leave. Westonka Community Education and Services School Year Adventure Club Assistant Locations:
Education/Certification: • High school graduate or equivalent • Completion of some college level or education courses strongly preferred • Experience working with children • Current CPR & First Aid certification (or ability to obtain if hired – training provided) Experience: • Strong communication skills • Demonstrated success of experience working with children, families, planning, organizing, and promoting programs. Rate: • $13.50 - $25.21 DOQ and Education; also eligible for sick leave. Position Title: Learn To Swim Instructor & Lifeguard
Learn to Swim Instructors & Lifeguards are primarily responsible for providing appropriate swim instruction to children and adults of all ages and abilities. Instructors enforce facility rules and regulations and educate patrons about them.
Training: We use onsite swim instructor training for new aquatics staff. New Instructors will be required to attend a Westonka Swim Academy and shadow a Swim Instructor for approximately 6- 10 hours prior to teaching. During this time new instructors will shadow experienced instructors' classes and gain valuable knowledge and teaching skills before teaching classes on their own. During the Swim Academy instructors will learn communication skills for kids and parents, as well as best practice teaching swimming and safety skills. Once hired staff will also be required to attend periodic training and in-services throughout the session.

Substitute Food Service staff - Line Servers and Cashiers - for Westonka School District. On-call positions for 3-6 hours/day in all school buildings.
Job Summary: Must enjoy food preparation and working with students. Responsible for processing charges and recipts to individual accounts, balancing receipts and making bank deposits. Assist with maintaining cleanliness of kitchen area. $15.00/hour
Qualifications: High School graduate or GED. Previous experience working as a cashier or in a food service area preferred but not required.
Working Conditions:
This position involves standing, bending, lifting, hot wet environment in dishroom.
Push/pull carts, lift cases of 20# or more.
