    Job Summary: 
    Studio 20 South is West Hartford Public Library’s maker space dedicated to providing the community access to a range of emerging and maker technologies. Studio 20 staff members are responsible for assisting patrons with maker activities and technologies within the space and planning and hosting workshops. The ideal candidate will have experience with said technologies and be comfortable working with people of all ages and skill levels.
     
    Key Responsibilities: 
    • Provide assistance and guidance to patrons in the use of maker technologies, including 3D printers, Cricut, Glowforge, audiovisual recording and production, design software, virtual reality, digitization, sewing and embroidery machines, and other equipment
    • Train library patrons on the use of Studio 20 equipment and software
    • Manage and maintain Studio 20 equipment and supplies
    • Assist with the development and implementation of programs and events
    • Monitor and enforce Studio 20 and library policies and procedures
    • Assist with outreach to promote Studio 20 to the community
     
    Qualifications: 
    • High school diploma
    • Experience working with maker technologies, including 3D printers, vinyl cutters, and other equipment
    • Strong customer service and communication skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Knowledge of maker culture and trends preferred
    • Familiarity with software used in maker activities, such as CAD software, Adobe Creative Suite, and programming preferred
    • Ability to troubleshoot maker equipment and software issues
    • Eager to learn emerging technologies and recommend new equipment and services
     
    Schedule: This is a part-time position up to 18 hours per week. Evening and/or weekend hours required.
     
    Salary and Benefits: $23.09/hour. Sick leave is provided consistent with State of Connecticut Regulations, but there are no other benefits associated with this position.
