SUMMARY: The Engineering and Math Teacher creates an engaging, nurturing, and safe learning environment that allows learners to develop their physical, social, and emotional wellbeing; providing instruction, future-ready skills, knowledge, and dispositions to be compassionate, lifelong-learners, and contributing citizens in a rapidly changing world. Horace High School utilizes the Project Lead the Way Curriculum for Engineering.

SUMMARY: The Building Trades Teacher guides learners through hands-on learning, preparing them for careers in the construction industry. The Building Trades Teacher instructs basic skills, safety protocols, and industry standards, while also fostering work ethic and teamwork. This involves developing lesson plans, providing practical instruction, and assessing learner progress. The teacher creates an engaging, nurturing and safe learning environment that allows learners to develop their physical, social, and emotional wellbeing; providing instruction in academics, future ready skills, knowledge, and dispositions to be compassionate, lifelong-learners, and contributing citizens in a rapidly changing world.

Education and/or Experience:
• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent.
• Education or experience required includes either of the following:
  • Bachelor’s degree with a health-related major, or major equivalent as accepted by ESPB, from an approved institution with appropriate certification in approved field.
  • Work experience in the health field with 8,000 hours of verifiable occupational excellence.
• Selected candidate will be required to complete Clinical Practice Program within first two years of employment.
  • Provisional certification to teach in a CTE funded program may be granted when the instructor is enrolled in a CTE approved alternative teacher preparation program. Such provisional certification may be renewed annually provided the instructor is continuing to work toward full licensure. Provisional licensing options are available in Occupational, Praxis Testing Option (may be available depending on route), or Alternate Licensing.
  • An instructor shall earn a minimum of six (6) credits for renewal of the regular (5 year) CTE credential.
• Valid Teaching Certificate in Career and Technical Education is required.
  • Information related to CTE Teacher Certification Licensing and Occupational Work Verification can be found on the ND CTE website at: http://www.nd.gov/cte/teacher-cert/#requirements
• Previous experience working in a high school setting is preferred.
• Prior teaching experience is preferred.
   
Language Skills:

SUMMARY: The Evening Lead/Trainer Custodian is responsible, under limited supervision, for assigning, inspecting, reviewing, and providing direction to a group of custodial workers. The Evening Lead/Trainer Custodian ensures the district buildings and grounds are regularly and thoroughly cleaned, equipment properly maintained, safety standards upheld, and school grounds are maintained to the standards of the district. The Evening Lead/Trainer Custodian utilizes and orients staff in the use of the district’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for logging daily work assignments, individual work orders, and equipment records.

STUDENT SPECIAL EDUCATION PARAPROFESSIONAL - HORACE HIGH SCHOOL

POSITION: Student Special Education Paraprofessional - Horace High School
 
SUMMARY:  Under the direct supervision of a certified staff member, to assist certified professional staff with students in the classroom to meet instructional goals and objectives, and to free certified professional employees from non-professional duties such as proctoring study halls to enable them to contribute to other aspects of the educational program, such as curriculum development. 
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
 
• Assists and guides students to reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics, computer instruction, and other skills.
• Works with students individually and in small groups to reinforce basic learning and implement assigned programs. 
• Assists professional staff in the administration and correction of classroom exercises, tests, and assessments. 
• Assists in classroom preparations and strategies for reinforcing instructional materials and skills according to individual student needs. 
• Assists with record-keeping procedures to document student learning and performance. 
• Assists with classroom behavioral management to minimize disruptions, ensure a safe and orderly classroom, and ensure students are on task. 
• Assists students in non-instructional areas, such as supervising the student lunch programs, bus duty, playground duty, corridor, study hall, and other related non-instructional areas. 
• Accompanies students on field trips for the purpose of assisting with supervision. 
• Constructs, copies and distribute and use educational materials as needed. 
• Assists students with special needs in all aspects of classroom instruction to maximize inclusion, learning, achievement if IEP objectives, etc. 
• Serves as resource for the student personnel evaluation team as needed. 
• Assist students with physical or mental disabilities with activities of daily living for the purpose of maximizing their ability to participate in school or learning activities. 
• Follows all applicable safety rules, procedures and regulations governing the proper manner of assistance for all students, including those with disabilities or other special needs. 
• Adherence to HIPPA and FERPA confidentiality requirements. 
 
 
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
• Current student of Sheyenne High School, West Fargo High School, or Horace High School 
• Age 16+ with preference given to students who will be seniors and juniors 
• Completion of the Peer to Peer 1 and 2 classes
• Certificate of completion of Paraprofessional Modules
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills 
• Physical ability to perform job-related duties
