POSTING DATE: March 31, 2025
POSITION: Assistant Principal – Surline Elementary School
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters degree, emphasis in educational leadership and/or related fields.
- A valid State of Michigan administrative certificate.
- A valid State of Michigan teaching certificate.
- Minimum of 4-6 years successful teaching experience or previous administrative experience.
- Excellent communication skills in working cooperatively with staff, students, parents and community.
- Knowledge and belief in instructional best practices that meet the developmental and individualized needs of all students.
- Ability and stamina to analyze, problem-solve and make decisions to support all students through a multi-tiered system of support.
DUTIES: - Carry out duties as assigned by the Elementary Principal, assisting with the total operation of the school and its personnel and shall act as the Elementary Principal in case of absence.
- Interacts with students and staff to encourage each individual to perform at his/her highest level.
- Focus on the maintenance of a safe environment for all stakeholders with an emphasis on implementation of SEL and PBIS.
- Maintains relations with parents, parent groups, school volunteers, and outside agencies.
- Assist with supervision, observations and evaluations of the instructional program and instructional staff.
- Recommends and administers guidelines for proper student conduct and maintaining student discipline.
- Collaborate with counselors and other designated personnel regarding educational and behavioral expectations for students
- Serves on various district-wide committees as needed.
- Performs all other duties assigned.
SALARY: Based upon the qualifications, training and experience of the candidate; 206 contract days.
