Position Purpose
Under the direct supervision of the Food Service Director, to assist in maintaining an orderly and safe atmosphere in the cafeteria, and in other designated locations by helping and supervising students at mealtime in accordance with Board policy and established district procedures. 
 
Hours and Building Site vary. Starting pay is flat rate $45.00 per 3 hr. day   in the case a full day is needed pay will be $11.99 per hr.

Essential Functions:
• Will be asked to fill in as needed to serve lunch but could be asked to work in other areas of the kitchen such as, dish room, prep area, stock room, etc.
• Reports to Food Service Director appropriate regarding infractions, safety concerns, injuries, or other issues involving students.

Qualifications Profile
 
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying.  Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
 
Certification/License:
• Motor Vehicle Operator's (DMV) License or ability to provide own transportation.
 
Experience:
• Successful prior experience working as a lunch or food service aide, preferably in a school district or with children.

Position Purpose
We are looking for a Cashier/Cook to join our team at Council Grove Junior Senior High School under the direct supervision of the Food Service Director. This position involves both customer service and food preparation responsibilities. Key duties include greeting students and staff, inputting data, preparing and cooking food, and maintaining a clean workspace.
Hours are tentatively 6:15 am-1:15 pm, Monday through Friday. Lunch is provided. Holidays, nights, and weekends off. Will have the opportunity to work in the Summer Food program.
Starting pay is $12.35/hr. Additional compensation for prior related work experience may be granted. This is a benefits eligible position.

**Responsibilities:**

**Customer Service:**
- Greet students warmly and efficiently.
- Accurately and efficiently input student breakfast and lunch data.
- Answer customer questions about the menu and be familiar with the rules of the National School Lunch Program and the National School Breakfast Program.
- Maintain a clean and organized cash register area.
- Professionally resolve customer issues and concerns.

**Food Preparation:**  
-Prepare food items according to recipes and standards.  
-Ensure food is prepared and served promptly.  
-Maintain a clean and organized workspace.  
-Follow food safety and sanitation procedures.
-Keep accurate records.

**Other duties include:**
-Stocking and rotating inventory
-Maintaining a clean and organized environment
-Performing additional tasks as assigned

**Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced customer service environment is preferred, but not required.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Completion of Food Safety Basics training is required. (this will be provided)
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
