Description: 

Assess needs, develop, test, and deploy computer programs utilizing specialized technical and business knowledge to enhance the use of the District student information system (SIS). Collaborate with users to define detailed requirements and system interfaces.  Responsible for administration of the applications, interfaces, and servers serving the SIS.

Essential Functions:  
 
1. Develop and/or write new custom computer programs using various programming languages to meet internal client needs as determined through assessment of client requirements, systems knowledge and capability.
2. Conduct analysis of a variety of existing computer programs to assess their feasibility for addressing District needs in a cost-efficient manner.
3. Perform testing, troubleshooting and/or error trapping of new software and programs to assure that the system will perform effectively in meeting the client’s and District’s expectations.
4. Design and implement processes and database structures, custom software development and deployment and troubleshooting all system processes (including applications, APIs, user permissions and data security) associated with new software releases.
5. Maintain optimal database performance.
6. Perform regular system maintenance activities to assure the District’s systems are operating effectively and efficiently.
7. Ensure stable performance for the application server(s) and Database environment through performance monitoring and tuning and perform capacity planning.
8. Effectively balance the immediate needs of users with the requirement for writing/adapting new programs; maintaining high level of customer service and support for users at all computer skill levels.
9. Perform tasks and duties relevant to any of various roles or responsibilities assigned by supervision and determined by management to be appropriate for this position; comply with all policy, procedure, regulation and other communicated requirements as may be in effect for the workgroup or worksite.
 
Job Requirements:
 
• A minimum of 2 years of experience with programming and customizing Student Information Systems, Microsoft SQL Server database administration and administration of a Student Information System.
• Knowledge of programming languages to include C#, .NET, PowerShell, Python and/or Ruby. Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within Student Information System.
• Patience and empathy to enable working effectively with users with little or no SIS knowledge.
• Knowledge of computer systems, programming languages, database design and theory.
• Bilingual is a plus

Education: 
High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Hiring Range:
$65,456 to $72,937 dependent on experience, plus additional $9,000 annual compensation for salary-in-lieu of dependent benefit coverage.

The Institutional Research Analyst will assist with the development and implementation of a comprehensive institutional research program that supports strategic planning at the district, division, campus, and program level.  This position will focus on assessing, extracting, analyzing, and reporting data for evidence-based decision-making and assessment of outcomes. 

Essential Functions:  
 
1. Under consultative or self-initiated direction, assess, collect, extract, analyze, interpret, and review relevant and accurate data/information from existing sources; devise methods to identify data trends using a variety of qualitative and quantitative techniques; and summarize findings in charts, graphs, tables, reports, dashboards, etc.   

2. Perform data mining activities using available tools (Ellucian Colleague, CRM, Entrinsik Informer, ODCTE website, Survey Monkey). 

3. Merge or join data in Excel, Access, or Tableau; run new queries; and organize/format datasets as required for analyses, reports, and Program Review. 

4. Provide access to data through reports and dashboards, while also ensuring the security of sensitive data. 

5. Serve as a resource for and respond to ad-hoc requests for statistics and surveys.  

6. Conduct research and produce high-quality reports with valuable information and insight into the progress and outcomes of the students, programs, campuses, and institution.  

7. Provide integrated analysis and research needed by practitioners and decision-makers in a comprehensible manner.  

8. Collaborate with staff to automate and streamline routine reports, dashboards, and metrics. 

9. Collaborate with staff to improve existing data collection strategies and recommend new approaches and procedures for the collection and analysis of institutional data, working to enhance effective data and information flow between the programs, the executive offices and partnering with other offices, faculty, and staff to enhance Tech Center wide data collection and presentation. 

10. Assist with developing and maintaining standard operating procedures for data collection and reporting processes to ensure data integrity and efficiency. 

11. Perform duties and responsibilities effectively and efficiently under multiple deadlines. 

12. Perform tasks and duties relevant to any of various roles or responsibilities assigned by supervision and determined by management to be appropriate for this position; comply with all policy, procedure, regulation and other communicated requirements as may be in effect for the workgroup or worksite. 
 
Job Requirements:
 
• Five (5) years of experience in a research, assessment, or data analysis related career area or the combination of work experience and related education is required.
• Experience with dashboards, Tableau, and database query languages and tools, especially SQL is preferred.
• Ability to manage and complete multiple projects for internal and external customers to meet deadlines. 
• In-depth knowledge and experience using and applying analytical software, student information systems, and data mining software. 
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel; for example, knowledge of VBA, Macros, PowerPivot, etc. 
• Ability to use logic and reasoning to calculate and merge/join data. 
• Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills required.

Job Requirements:
 
• A minimum of five years’ experience working in a craft level position in manufacturing, construction, or related industries.
• Experience with OSHA, EPA and ADA regulations, and one year experience in a lead role is preferred.
• Experience maintaining industrial equipment with specific knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, AC/DC power, motor controls, programmable logic controllers, and other advanced manufacturing equipment and controls.
• Currently possess or have the ability to obtain within one year current certifications to deliver American Heart Association or Red Cross approved CPR, OSHA Outreach General Industry, OSHA General Construction and other safety topics is required.

Ensure accurate recordkeeping of district leave programs while providing support and assistance with benefit questions and enrollment processes. Providing front line client support and advice in the areas of employee benefits.
