Tanque Verde Unified School District is seeking an evening Custodian to work at the district office. This is a part-time position at 10 hours per week, Monday - Friday. The hours range from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. This is a 12 month position.
We are seeking someone who is responsible, self-motivated, reliable; punctual, able to work on own with limited or no supervision, able to follow prescribed guidelines, may interact with outside groups who are using school facilities. 
Cleans the district office hallways, meeting rooms, bathrooms, and offices of assigned buildings in the district.

Example of Duties:

- Sweeps, mops, polishes and strips floors in rooms and halls.
- Dusts and/or polishes furniture, blinds and equipment, dusts and cleans
.- Cleans restrooms and fills dispensers.
- Vacuums, spot cleans and/or shampoos rugs, carpets, and furniture using commercial vacuum cleaners and shampooing equipment.
- Reports malfunctions of bathroom fixtures, light fixtures and/or damages to room and hall furnishings to supervisor.- Arranges furniture and equipment for the purpose of providing adequate preparations for meetings, classroom activities and special events.
- Stocks area with appropriate supplies.
- Locks and unlocks doors as directed, secures rooms upon completion of work.
- Initiates work orders for repair/maintenance.
- Moves furniture, equipment or fixtures as required.
- Empties trash receptacles.
- Cleans, sanitizes and disinfects restrooms, sinks, drinking fountains and eating surfaces
.- Restocks paper goods and soaps/cleaners.
- Washes dishes or utensils as required.
- Cleans after special events.
- Sweeps walkways, picks up paper and trash.
- Provides building security, as required.
- Reports to the principal any damage to school property as soon as possible.
- May perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

- Knowledge of cleaning equipment, products, techniques and standards.
- Skill in using cleaning products and equipment.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to communicate effectively.

Minimum Qualifications:

- High School diploma or general education degree (GED); OR
- One to three months’ related experience and/or training; OR
- Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training approved by the district.

Pay starts at $16.00 per hour.

Job Summary:  The Athletic Field Specialist will perform a variety of tasks to ensure the maintenance of lawns and athletic fields. This role demands specialized knowledge of athletic lawn maintenance and a strong work ethic. 
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
 
• Operate power equipment, such as mowers, blowers, edgers, and tractors.

• Utilize specialized equipment, including sprayers, aerators, and topdressing.

• Apply fertilizer, seed, and other materials to turf areas.

• Prepare and maintain athletic fields for practices and competitions.

• Perform general landscaping duties as assigned.

• Assist with renovations and repairs to turf areas, including sod work and overseeding.

• Ensure that all equipment and supplies are properly stored and maintained.

• Communicate with other staff and administrators to address any concerns or issues related to athletic lawn maintenance.

• Perform other duties as assigned. 
 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
 
• Demonstrated specialized knowledge of athletic turf management practices, including turf care, field preparation, and maintenance techniques specific to athletic fields.

• Proficiency in general landscaping principles, including irrigation systems, planting, and horticultural practices.

• Ability to safely operate and maintain various power and specialized equipment used in turf management, such as mowers, blowers, tractors, sprayers, aerators, and topdressers.

• Knowledge of safety regulations and protocols related to equipment operation, chemical applications, and turf maintenance to ensure a safe work environment.

• Understanding of environmental considerations in turf management, including the responsible use of fertilizers, pesticides, and chemicals.

Minimum Qualifications:
 
• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Previous experience groundskeeper work strongly preferred.

• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time. 
 
Physical Requirements:
 
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and work in a variety of weather conditions.

• Must be able to bend, stoop, and kneel to perform tasks.

• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects up to 50 pounds. 
 
This position may require some evening or weekend work depending on the needs of the district. 
Pay starts at $17.00 per hour.

Tanque Verde USD is seeking a part-time, 20 hour per week Maintenance Coordinator.
 
The Maintenance Coordinator will oversee and coordinate maintenance activities at the site level. This individual will work closely with school administrators and staff to ensure that school buildings and grounds are safe, functional, and well-maintained. The Maintenance Coordinator will be responsible for performing various maintenance and repair duties within the school premises, including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC work. The role will involve maintenance tasks, repairs, and renovations to ensure the smooth operation of the school facilities.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
 
• Conduct daily inspections of school buildings, grounds, and equipment to identify and address maintenance issues promptly.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, electrical systems, plumbing systems, and other equipment as required.
• Repair and maintain building structures, including walls, roofs, floors, and ceilings.
• Install, repair and maintain plumbing fixtures, water lines, and drainage systems.
• Install and maintain electrical wiring, switches, and lighting fixtures.
• Repair and replace broken windows, doors, locks, and hinges.
• Operate and maintain various types of equipment, such as lawn mowers, snow blowers, and power tools.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
