The primary focus of the Lifeguard will be to monitor activity and ensure a safe environment at the two District pool locations. Job Title:  Activity Center Coordinator

Job Summary:  Stillwater Area Public Schools is seeking an Activity Center Coordinator to provide leadership in the continued development, implementation and on-going management of a comprehensive community education activity center and gymnastics program, and assuming direct responsibility for the procedure development, logistical systems, calendar development, staffing and supervision necessary to accommodate the use of the Pony Activity Center (PAC) by District staff, students and the public. 

FTE/Hours per Day:  8.0 hours per day, 48 weeks per year.  

Qualifications: 
 
• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in recreation, park administration, community education or closely-related field
• Master's degree is preferred
• CPR/ First Aid certification preferred
• One year supervisory experience in the area of community education, parks and recreation or other related work environments
• Experience at both a building and a district-wide level is preffered

Duties & Responsibilities
 
• Collaborates with District staff, Activities Department and community renters to ensure reasonable access to the PAC.   
• Recruit, hire, train, supervise and evaluate personnel necessary to effectively manage the use of the PAC.
• Works with District Operations Department personnel and the Activities Department to audit the condition of the PAC facilities and to determine priorities and facilitate the repair, maintenance and replacement of equipment.  
• Ensures access to the PAC for the community and monitors responsible use practices.
• Researches and updates the PAC membership guidelines based on industry standards and best practices.
• Coordinates PAC memberships fees, registrations and participation details.
• Configure, perform and test all membership database systems setup, upgrades and yearly conversions, maintaining accurate documentation and user friendly manuals for the proper use of the database system.
• Serve as a primary contact to the vendor and district staff for the database system.
• Analyze customer and staff requests and determine if needs can be accommodated within the current system, designing customized solutions or recommending program enhancements to the vendor.
• Design and generate customized reports and data files as necessary to meet the needs of District staff for verification and informational purposes. 
• Identifies community needs for PAC and gymnastics programs and explores available resources for meeting those needs.
• Develops long range plans and program goals to include scope and sequence for the PAC and gymnastics center.
• Recruits, selects and hires individuals involved in the PAC activities and gymnastics such as instructors and personal trainers.
• Participates with the Director, and other program staff in the regular assessment of community education program needs and results being achieved, including methods to monitor and evaluate the degree to which results are consistently high quality and align with community needs. 
• Assumes budget management accountability for all program areas, from development to projections through monitoring to processing all financial transactions from such programs.
• Develops, monitors and effectively manages the budgets for the programs supervised, ensuring the timely and accurate communication of budget information to those who need to know it, processing and approving all program financial transactions according to established protocol. 
• Provides weekly updates and communications to PAC members, and stakeholder groups as needed.
• Actively promotes the programs supervised internally and externally through reports to the Community Education Advisory Council, Board reports, news releases, involvement in community events, and seeking suggestions and input from those being served in those programs.
• Prepares comprehensive state reporting on the programs as scheduled or requested. 
• Represents the department and protects its interests as well as serving as a resource to others on district-wide committees and boards of community organizations.
• Performs other job-related duties as requested or assigned.

Position Purpose 
 
-  Licensed teaching staff to serve as a remedial resource instructors to improve students' achievement in reading, writing and mathematics, implementing district approved remedial reading, writing and mathematics curricula and programs. This program is under the general supervision of the St. Croix Valley Area Learning Center Principal.

Job title:  Special Ed Paraprofessional (Kindergarten) - Brookview Elementary

Job Summary:  Special Education Paraprofessional will provide instructional and behavioral support for students with special needs. Transferring/lifting of students may be required.  Preferred candidate will have experience working with special needs students.

Requirements: 
In order to work as a Special Education Paraprofessional, you must meet the state requirement of being Highly Qualified within 10 days of your first day of work. To be considered Highly Qualified, you must have ONE of the following:
 
1. A Bachelor's Degree, or

2. An Associates Degree, or

3. 60+ credits of post-secondary education, or

4. A passing score on the ParaPro Exam.
 
Please be prepared to submit documentation in support of your qualifications. Acceptable documentation includes transcripts from the college/university or a copy of the ParaPro Exam report.
 
Important Update:
We can offer a strictly limited 10-day grace period to submit the necessary documents or pass the ParaPro Exam. Stillwater Area Public Schools will pay for you to take the ParaPro Test if you take it through the Harmony Learning Center.   However, if you are unable to furnish highly qualified documents or unable to pass the test within the 10-day period, your employment with Stillwater Area Public Schools will be terminated. You are welcome to re-apply once you have passed the test.
