Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable High School Chemistry Teacher to join our science department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and rigorous chemistry instruction to students in grades 9–12, fostering a deep understanding of scientific principles, and encouraging inquiry-based learning in a safe and supportive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement comprehensive chemistry lesson plans aligned with state and national science standards.
Teach concepts such as atomic structure, chemical reactions, stoichiometry, bonding, thermodynamics, and laboratory safety.
Conduct laboratory experiments and demonstrations, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
Assess student progress through quizzes, tests, labs, and projects, and provide timely feedback.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
Integrate technology and digital tools to enhance learning experiences.
Collaborate with other science faculty to develop interdisciplinary projects and curriculum.
Participate in parent-teacher conferences, faculty meetings, and professional development activities.
Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
Support school-wide initiatives and uphold school policies and values.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Science Education, or related field (Master’s preferred).
Valid teaching certification/licensure for high school science/chemistry in Indiana.
Prior teaching experience at the secondary level is preferred.
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment.
Familiarity with laboratory equipment and chemical safety procedures.
