Position Title:
Speech Therapist Clerk
Reports To:
Director of Special Programs and Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Work Schedule:
Follows the school calendar; may include part-time or full-time hours depending on campus needs
Position Summary:
The Speech Therapist Clerk supports the delivery of speech and language services by assisting the campus-based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with clerical, organizational, and preparatory tasks. This role helps ensure smooth scheduling, documentation, and material management in support of students receiving speech-language services.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist with the organization and maintenance of student records, including IEPs, evaluation reports
Prepare, duplicate, and organize therapy materials, worksheets, visuals, and other resources used during speech-language therapy sessions
Assist transferring students for therapy sessions in coordination with teachers and support staff to minimize classroom disruption
Assist the SLP in preparing for ARD meetings, including printing documents and organizing reports
Maintain confidentiality of student information in compliance with FERPA and district policy
Contact parents for scheduling Clinic and ARD meetings
Maintain and restock therapy supplies and materials as needed
Serve as a liaison between the SLP and campus staff, including teachers and administrators
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising SLP or campus administration
Preferred Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required
Prior experience in a school setting or working with children preferred
Strong organizational and time management skills
Proficiency in basic computer applications (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, etc.)
Behavior management skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Working Conditions:
Work is typically performed in a school environment with frequent student and staff interaction
May involve walking, standing, light lifting, and use of office and instructional materials
Must be able to work independently with direction and adhere to deadlines
