    Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic School is seeking a dynamic and creative individual with a dedication to further the mission of Catholic education.  Our Lady of Guadalupe is a parish school serving approximately 240 diverse students in Preschool thru 8th Grade. We are in the High Point area of West Seattle and are proud of our welcoming community and dedication to The Catholic Social Teaching. 

    This position is a full-time, in-person, year around exempt position with competitive salary and benefits.

    The Development and Marketing Director serves on the school’s Leadership and Office Team and works collaboratively to set data-informed fundraising projections and to implement comprehensive strategies to achieve fundraising goals. Additionally, the Director interacts regularly with representatives from the School Commission and Parent Organization around fundraising and enrollment goals. This position reports directly to the School Principal.

    Scope of the Role (Included but not limited to the following): 

    Member of the Leadership and Office Team

     
    • Work collaboratively with the Admin/ Office Team to foster and nurture school culture and promote the mission and core values of the school. 
    • To perform other duties as assigned by the principal.
    • To support the school and its leadership in fulfilling our mission to foster Gospel values, inspire academic excellence, and develop service & leadership in our community.
    • Collaborate with the parish, School Commission and Parent Org. 
    • Coordinate with parish staff on the annual report and in fostering relationships between volunteers and the greater community.
    Development 
    • Establish an intentional, formalized development plan that is consistent with the mission, vision, and values of OLG. 
    • To maintain and increase the current programs and events designed to attract the maximum gift support possible to the school. Programs can include annual fund solicitation, planned giving programs, corporate and foundation proposals, auction underwriting, corporate matching gifts, and planning for major capital gifts.
    • Active participation in the planning and execution of the Annual School Auction, particularly as it pertains to its procurement efforts. Evaluate opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertising on an on-going basis. 
    • Work with School Principal, School Commission and Parish Leadership, in identifying and building relations with potential donors and prospects for major gifts. Manage donor database and communication. 
    • Support fundraising efforts with the parish and Parent Org.
    • To oversee processing of gift income for the purpose of providing thank you acknowledgments and receipts and the maintaining of school donor giving records.
    • To maintain and increase the current programs and events designed to attract the maximum gift support possible to the school. Primary programs will include:
      • Annual Fund Drive, collaboration with lead donors, sponsors and small donations. 
      • Planned giving programs, corporate and foundation proposals, auction underwriting, corporate matching gifts, and planning for major capital gifts.
    Marketing
    • Maintain social media, Meta platform, and website
    • Manage overall design of media and website / work with the Office Team/ Principal on upcoming changes
    • Keep posts/ news updated and moving forward
    • Work with the enrollment team to make inquiry/app/enrollment marketing streamlined, animated, and up to date.
    • Develop a plan to keep website pages updated.  
    • Collaborate with stakeholders in regard to website/ social media. Remind stakeholders as appropriate of what pages/ when to check for updates w/ deadline.
    • For social media: review menus, photos, graphics to make sure flow makes sense (can utilize certain parents / polls for help with feedback). Collaborate with the principal and admin team to make sure posts are aligned to mission. 
    • Develop alumni relations/ alumni programming.
    A successful candidate will model integrity, be collaborative, flexible and promote the Catholic values and values of OLG. A successful candidate has a positive track record working with a diverse population, and should be prepared to supply a minimum of two reference letters, and phone numbers for reference checks.

    Expected Qualities and Characteristics:
    • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university. 
    • Related experience in the essential functions of the role as listed above. Catholic school fundraising experience preferred. 
    • Excellent administrative, oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Data-driven with demonstrated strategic long-range planning skills.
    • Collaborative, creative, mission driven, innovative, positive, punctual and professional. 
    • Able to network and engage with donors and community members to promote the mission of OLG to all stakeholders.
    • Experience with Donor software preferred 
    • Experience with Canva, WordPress and video software is preferred
    • Active in some part of the student or Parish life
    • Event planning experience is preferred
    • Knowledge of, and an appreciation for, Catholic education is preferred
    • Comfortable and willing to occasionally assist with basic school front desk duties.
    • Demonstrate initiative and the ability to independently navigate the role
    • Should approach challenges as opportunities and maintain a growth mindset.

    Salary and Benefits
    • Compensation includes competitive benefits and salary commensurate with experience.
      • Base Salary range: 60K- 75K 
    • Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications. 
    • Benefits include a comprehensive package of medical plan options, dental, vision, life, accidental death and disability, long term disability, pension, 403(b), HSA, FSA, and generous sick leave, vacation, and holidays.
